Kindness

Soft, tender, intimate … as delicate as the butterfly, is she.

Silent, reaching, gentle; elusive as a child’s smile, yet firm,

Like Life’s sweet caress in adversity. She sits in our sanctum,

Awaiting the Heart’s prod, like strands of silk, to the cocoon.

Empathy and concern are her synergies, like flowers,

To the bees and butterflies, nestling in harmony, sharing the

Splendour of colorful spring. Her Light, a taste of sunset

On scarlet horizons, emanating the garden of the soul.

She paints the colour of rainbows on my cheeks,

As each new dawn, reminds me of her sweet scent –

A redolence of human jasmines -- reaching out in solace

To my afflictions, with deeds of Love Divine.

Kindness – like the colorful moth, soaring in the atmosphere --

Offering freely the magic of its hue; like rose emitting its

Charms without conditions, so too, you come dancing in our Hearts --

A lustred moonlight, a remedial balm from some good soul, who feel

The need, like the elegance to the swan, to do the needful.

Since I have found another kindred Spirit, I will write this way: I strive to be an instrument of Something Higher -- the same Light reflected in my brothers and sisters/mankind. So wise of you to notice!

Selfless service kisses and indeed has kissed my soul numerous times. Our Lord is so compassionate! Jai Ram!

Diane Denison from Cincinnati Ohio on March 07, 2020:

Beautiful truth you write Manatita44 . It's amazing once a person opens the door to feeling another person's essence. If you feel there pain immediately you cry with them and then reach your arms out to comfort them. Also when you feel someones beauty in there essence it is like a fresh breath of air that kisses your soul.

This is so fitting for Devika. She is one who leaves encouraging words on our hubs, and she writes interesting topics. Your poetry is beautifully penned.

manatita44 (author) from london on March 06, 2020:

Very sweet, Lorna.

Very sweet. I have a vast array of 800 poems, but yes, whenever I use a relatable topic, then people love them very much.

Last night I read at a famous venue. I gave them a choice: Mother's Love or Knife Crime. They chose the later which I read, but I felt sad afterwards.

I have devotional poems and regular Sonnets of such beauty!

My appreciations.

Pamela,

Natirally I love people to read my work and many of you really do. Your contribution is extremely beautiful!

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on March 06, 2020:

Lorna Lamon on March 06, 2020:

I think this is one of the most beautiful poems you have written Manatita. Devika is indeed kindness itself and very deserving of this wonderful tribute.

Beautiful poem and a rich tribute to Devika, a dear friend and a fellow writer.

I have known her since I joined HubPages.

Kindness is perhaps the most valuable quality of a human being, and you defined it so beautifully in a poetic way.

I loved the words of wisdom from Shri Chinmoy.

Thank you and happy day to you.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on March 06, 2020:

Devika loves to write. You can sense her enthusiasm in every article she posts. I love that, and I love your tributes, my friend.
