Cross Over the Rainbow Bridge My Darling One...

Cross over the Rainbow bridge

Cross over the Rainbow bridge

Journey to the Rainbow Bridge Where Love Finds You

Look all around you, tell me what do you see?
The moon, the stars, the ocean, and the sea
Whispering willows that dance in the midst of the rain
Autumn leaves fall to the earth, again and again

The new moon rises, the flowers kiss my cheeks
A brand-new day is just beginning to shine down upon me
In the horizon, all the colors they quickly change
The breath of God blows gently as heaven calls her name

Beauty stands all around you cleanses the soul
Gives tremendous peace, gives me so much hope
That life is wonderful, Violet, you touched my heart, and made it tender
You have been so precious to me, your love I will remember

In the distance, you can see fields of gold and the flowers of peace
Go to the rainbow bridge where the daffodils dance and birds that sing
Hold on to me tight, let me lead the way, where you can run in the wild: free from all this pain
Just go to the rainbow bridge my darling one… everything will be OK…

Mama will miss you, and daddy will too
Just go over the rainbow bridge, and God will take care of you
Freedom calls her name; then she goes on about her way
She leaves behind such beauty and a bit of heaven today

Soon she goes over the bridge and looks back at her ma
She leaves kisses in the wind and hugs her with her paws
As twilight approaches as she walks the golden path
I will love you forever Violet, you are free at last…

(The me and I are meant to be Jennifer talking to Violet!)

The Beauty of Cat Heaven

Cats rest as they cross over where they are alive and free from what ailes them!

Cats rest as they cross over where they are alive and free from what ailes them!

It’s Hard to Say Good-Bye- Let’s Just Say- I Love You and See You Soon...

In life, it's not always easy to let go of the ones you love. Some of our loved ones have fur or feathers or skin. Your heart doesn’t measure what you look like or what you sound like. And if by chance we find that love in a furry companion, we know they will always be with us in this life.

We are not guaranteed any new day at all, but we love, we laugh and cherish every single moment that is laid upon our hearts. The guarantee is their love goes on forever in our memories and when our beloved visits us in our dreams.

Ms. Violet Mocha – May You Rest in Peace

Whoever thought that a furry little creature would touch so many lives. She wasn’t just a cat; she was my daughter’s first child. The emptiness cannot be smoothed over with just another cat.

Each one holds a piece of our hearts and yes, eventually we will get a new furry little child and the pain will be pushed to the back of our hearts to make room for just one more to love…

Violet started her life in my house undetected but what she left behind made me find my heart again, she made her time here joy and a wonderful companion to my daughter and son-in-law for 15 years!

She went to heaven today and I’m sure her Grandma Jo and Grandma Nita and all the rest of the family that has passed, I can see her running up to them they all gave her hugs and kisses...

Violet sends one final I love you too and blows kisses in the wind over the rainbow bridge... she looks back meows to her Mama and Daddy one last time...

Donna Rayne (author) from Greenwood, Indiana on April 30, 2020:

Thank you, Brenda! I appreciate it! Sorry for the late reply, my husband and I got back together and he came and got me and took me home. I was in California and our place is in Indiana! Long drive, but thanks for sharing my poem!

Beautiful, yet sad, Donna. They do have a way of getting under our skin, don't they?

Denise McGill from Fresno CA on April 12, 2020:

This was very hard to read today when so many are passing from the Covid 19 pandemic. My sister lost both her inlaws this week and it has been hard to say goodbye.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on April 10, 2020:

This is so touching. It brought tears to my eyes as it tugged on my heart.

Losing a pet is like losing a family member.

It was so difficult when I lost one a few years back.

Just looking at her picture still brings a tear.

I can't wait until I finally get to see her.

Your Violet looks like a sweetie. Siamese kittys are always so affectionate.

So sorry you and your family had to lose her during this already trying time.

Stay safe.

Sending you all hugs.

Donna Rayne (author) from Greenwood, Indiana on April 10, 2020:

Thank you all so much, Dreamer, Ms. Ruby, and Linda. I appreciate your kind sweet words and Linda I'm glad your cat walked with you last night.

God bless you all,

Donna Rayne

I am sorry you had to lose Violet but what a beautiful tribute to a beloved furbaby.

Ruby Jean Richert from Southern Illinois on April 10, 2020:

Losing a loved one, whether it be an animal, family or friend is tragic and I felt the pain in your beautiful piece.

Linda Courtney from Bloomsburg, PA on April 10, 2020:

Loved your poetry and tribute to your furry Violet. Anyone who has loved and lost a pet will know how you feel. My golden retriever, Cody, passed over 10 years ago now and I still think of him. I actually had a dream we were out walking last night. I can't wait until we all meet again!

Donna Rayne (author) from Greenwood, Indiana on April 09, 2020:

I am so sorry for your loss but I am grateful the vet let you guys in. I will keep you in prayer and God bless you both!

I’m so sorry about Violet. What a lovely cat and nice name. I’m sure she brought love and joy to your home and knew that she was loved in return. We also lost our cat this week. Our cancer cat, Gunter, had to be euthanized on Monday. Only one person was permitted to be with him because of the virus and the vet was actually making an exception for us. It’s hard letting go of someone you love.

Donna Rayne (author) from Greenwood, Indiana on April 09, 2020:

I'm sorry for your loss, Ms.Pamela. It is always sad when they go but I believe one day we all shall be reunited with our loved pets!
