Junior the Doctor

Doctor remains busy

His list is awful

He can’t afford Billy

He speaks, takes one look

He knocks on his brain

He must think to himself

To avoid a new sprain

Two look to Doctor

How bad can he be?

As much as he’s loved

He can’t carry the tree

As much as he loves them

He has cut up the tree

So the weight is more even

But who else takes the deed

The first, out of many

Falls to his knees

Every time he brings more

And rattles his keys

It looks like nothing

But he swears it weighs more

Than his shoulders can handle

He’s now starting to crawl

The second of the group

Doesn’t hide anymore

He claims,

No body cares

So he aims for the door

His mind seems to think

Each time that they fight

The moves in his mind

Don’t come out too bright

They speak only the words

Of a patient who’s ill

If they feel all alone

Then why should they spill?

By his bookcase he sees

He is nosey and bleak

He is careful and peeks

By his bookcase he weeps

He looks at his art

Not healthy, but proud

There is no one around

So he says it out loud

“My art is different

There is fiction between

Your art seems quiet

Your art needs to speak”

Since 1972

Poor Doctor has struggled

To give all that he can

So his two wear no rubble

He carefully dissects

The problem at hand

Says, “Oh dear, my sons lacking

This is not what I planned

In the main art department

I want best for Billy”

So he sold his apartment

Though delightful, was silly

He can’t afford, Billy

So he took him to sea

The little bookcase

Where he wrote for three

The strike is now over

At least that’s what he thought

To walk out and let life

Was not on the cards
