Media (An ethics checklist)

Could you be the fighter for the powerless,

against the powerful ?

Could you be the soldier of a nations truth,

against its own ills ?

Could you be a brave warrior who upholds the laws,

against its own flawed frills ?

Could you enrich nations moral and ethical values,

against influences ?

For a society that’s hooked,

you are a puppet to biased, dependent conglomerate.

Your own actions are scripted,

making your voices, just ineffective noises.

Would you let us people, feel protected by you ?

Cause you too are our constitutional right.

I often wonder, as Brenda does, how much "scripting" goes into producing the news. I question the integrity of the media more each day.

Excellent poem!
