It's a Leprechaun's Life For Me

As I searched for the leprechaun's treasure, I got turned into a frog!

Oh, I live in old Ireland, there I'm as happy as can be,

A carefree life of a Leprechaun, to be this life for me.

I wear me green suit, a fine hat, too, just for all to see,

I can be so wee, for I'm only an imp, or tall as any tree.

refrain:

For I am but a wee leprechaun, I'm as happy as can be

I make me home in old Ireland, living so fat and so free.

If you please, mother dears, keep all you children close,

Never let any one ever stray, their safety to just suppose.

For in the woodland late at night, I do my impish deeds,

As fairies, sprites fly in the night, live up to all our creeds.

Refrain:

For I am but a wee leprechaun, I'm as happy as can be,

I make me home in old Ireland, living so fat and so free.

You may find me under a mushroom, hard for you to see,

I can make myself be invisible, as I move quickly to flee.

I"m very hard to catch, my treasure to snatch, just to find,

If you dare to happen out there, leave all reasoning behind.

Refrain:

For I am but a wee leprechaun, I'm as happy as can be,

I make my home in old Ireland, living so fat and so free.

I just love a nip of fine whiskey, with a tip of my hat to you,

I'll take me leave, not to deceive, I've mischief more to do.

I really just but a little rascal, not meaning harm to anyone,

At night is when I'm at my best, fast asleep by a rising sun.

Refrain:

For I am but a wee leprechaun, I'm as happy as can be,

I make my home in old Ireland, living so fat and so free.

Hiding my treasure well, my boys, no rainbow to ever tell,

If your foolish, look for it, you're under a leprechaun's spell.

Oh, you'll be under a leprechaun's spell.

I believe I've had one too many.

I believe I've had one too many.

Haha. What a delightful little jig you have here. It was the picture that first caught my attention. I've noticed frogs all my life because my grandma has a massive collection of all things frogs. It didn't start out by choice, but I as something people just started giving her until it became a lifelong collection. Now those critters take up her home. Perhaps one is a leprechaun!
