It's Time, It's Time

How can you really live without speaking directly
It’s not about fame so my words won’t be a mystery
I won’t speak above your head, you’ll know what I said
I don’t mind revealing myself, there is no other instead
It's time, it's time, it's time for me to share my bread

There are so many people trying to take something
If you can’t help them you’re not much more than nothing
I won’t treat you like that, I’m not asking except how you are
I’ll talk about whatever you want, I’m not just a passing car
It's time, it's time, it's time to stand near instead of far

Never think I can’t cry with you, if it’s your son, it’s mine too
I don’t believe you’re weak, I see the times and I believe you
Being sad, feeling put upon, you need a friend and so do I
We’re going to do what we have to do except ask God why
It's time, it's time, it's time for truth and not a lie

We’ll be gentle when we tell the tales we both live in
The cold waits outside the door but a fire burns within
You are not alone though I’ve not known your despair
I’m not gonna’ wait until it happens to me before I care
It's time, it's time, it's time to strip my heart bare

We won’t be told what to do when it comes to our sadness
We won’t be rejected even if all they can see is our madness
It’s our home, inside the heart of a sin that’s been forgiven
That’s why we don’t ask God, we already know what’s written
It's time, it's time, it's time for the body to be eaten

We work for money and wait for the day we won’t
And when we quit there’s always a feeling that say’s don’t
I have to take the time now before the knock on my door
It’s time I live with the sounds I’ve never heard before
It's time, it's time, it's time to know and not ignore
