I don’t know if I’m just getting older
But I find myself less in the virtual
Got a sore thumb scrolling
Lives of people I barely know.
They said it connects people
But why do some get sadder?
Looking at things others have
The success, happiness and love.
Are they really happy?
Or they’re in it just for the likes
Oh how we’ve watered down connection
Ditched the physical, settled for convenient but superficial.
Has it really connected us or made everything distant?
Can’t send a hug, fancy symbols mean nothing
The link meant to bridge us
Burned our lives and enslaved us.
