A Song For my Beloved

As the stars twinkle sweetly,

And the moon shines adoringly,
As the snow falls majestically,
And the wind rustles softly.
So too, I am immaculately woven from Thee.

As our paths did cross; Love shone from afar,
As Your Grace from within, did quicken my Soul.
As the morning rose, sings your enthralling sonata,
My lips have gone mute as raptures unfold.

Sweet tenderness, elegance, gentleness … care,
With what heavenly Gods can I you compare?
You’re loving, compassionate, selfless and strong,
With concern and empathy whenever I’m wrong.

My heart sings Your glories, all where, all where;
My mind, so delighted, goes without fear.
I feel in my core, that all’s loving and right,
And the time has arrived, to implore ‘the good fight’.

So pranams on my knees, with the best I can be,
My Beloved Supreme, I am all gratitude … to Thee.

-Manatita 22nd January, 2011.

The beauty of the rose

Who says?

Just love

And love more,

That's all. -Sri Chinmoy

Devotion is the secret of life.

Surrender is the goal of life." - Sri Chinmoy

Tamara Moore on June 15, 2017:

You are blessed to have your own Guru. I wish I had one.

manatita44 (author) from london on June 15, 2017:

He is my Guru Sri Chinmoy, a Yogi of the highest order and a remarkable visionary of the 20th and 21st century. A God-man ... an Advocate of the Supreme ... a divine incarnation of the highest order (to the disciple)

The poem is dedicated to God and Guru who, from a profound standpoint, are essentially one.Thank you for asking.

Tamara Moore on June 14, 2017:

This poem reminds me of sweet Christmas Eve. It's very powerful in its imagery and prettiness. Manatita, who is the gentleman on the front picture? I wonder because he looks so much at peace, and in the most delightful harmony with himself...

Cuddly Hugs,

manatita44 (author) from london on June 07, 2017:

Thanks Bro.

It is one of those which is permanently featured. So my last Hub is generally below it. My last Hub then was the one about loving your enemies, (prose) but today it is the one about sacred sanctity but called Let me Flow, unimpeded ....

Gratitude, much.

DREAM ON on June 07, 2017:

I have an older laptop and what happens it suddenly erases what I wrote and says reloading. To my surprise the time I spent writing the comment now it is gone. So when I write a number of lines I hit post and then I know it was saved. As I was writing the second comment the same thing I was explaining happened. After reading the comments on your hub I noticed that I was in fact t your hub three years ago and then again two months after. Your words are appreciated many times over. I enjoyed the videos as well.

manatita44 (author) from london on June 07, 2017:

You're doing very well, Bro...

And a third visit at that or rather third comment, I believe.

We express ourselves differently. So what? As long as you tune into the life-song that He asks of you.

One thing, though. You speak of the mind, but I feel you mean the Heart. You have indeed shown me a lot of Heart -- not the emotional but the psychic Heart. The intuitive 'feel' comes from the Heart and allows the reader to express himself/herself in a more all-inclusive way.

This is by far, one of my 'sweetest' most charming Hubs, as it addresses Gratitude to both God and Guru.

DREAM ON on June 07, 2017:

I separated my comment so it wouldn't get eraced like this one has.

DREAM ON on June 07, 2017:

As I read your beautiful hub for what I thought was the first time. When I read someone's hub I enjoy reading the comments. I try to think of a comment that is different. So I can connect even further with the writer on a deeper level. Many times I find it hard because wonderful writers like yourself have many followers and they are so talented they come up with so many creative ways to appreciate what they also have enjoyed. Now I am faced with an unusual personal challenge to think outside of the box and reach into my vocabulary and write deeper. Sometimes I can wait and nothing happens and I have to leave it blank. Other times I will come back and write something later. Recently pressed for time and against my own inner will I put a few words and even though they are not any different I feel I should let the writer know I was here. That is more important than me trying to find my own unique style that is always growing and expanding. This style or technique I thought it would develop and come natural as breathing in time. It takes dedication and commitment. To achieve a goal that is only in my mind. Many people say I go off in a tangent or rambling but in my mind it is clear as day. I just haven't learned the write words to express myself properly. I am going to continue ...

manatita44 (author) from london on April 19, 2017:

So sweet of you, Isabella. So charming and heartfelt. You must be a very spiritual person. Welcome here and I will visit you some time today. God bless your heart.Peace.

Bella Allred on April 18, 2017:

This kind of poetry is unique and beautiful. It is definitely one that resonates with my soul.

manatita44 (author) from london on April 09, 2017:

You went straight to the nitty-gritty of the Hub. How insightful!! Guruji continue to bless you always ....

I will send you some exercises and other material when I leave New York.

Tamara Moore on April 09, 2017:

He looks, very much, at peace.

manatita44 (author) from london on April 02, 2017:

Welcome, Louise, and thank you. I truly appreciate your presence and loving sentiment. Best wishes to you, always. -Lantern Carrier.

manatita44 (author) from london on March 09, 2017:

Hi Louise, welcome!

This is my most popular piece. So glad you came. Appreciations.

Louise Powles from Norfolk, England on March 09, 2017:

That's a lovely piece of poetry. The words are beautiful.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 09, 2016:

Yes, yes, that is why I suggested you read a couple more. My 300 plus Hubs says nothing else. Feel the Spirit! I sat at the feet of a most remarkable visionary of the 20th and 21st Century for 34 years. So if you are saying that all is Consciousness; all is Spirit; all is the Absolute Sat, Chit, Ananda, then you are on the exalted pages with Ramakrishna, Ramana Mahashi, Sri Aurobindo and the Persian mystics.... all is Consciousness! Separation and isolation ... boxes, are the causes of strife.

Read some of my poems and prose. They carry a spirit which is lofty and sublime.

Gary R. Smith from the Head to the Heart on September 09, 2016:

Yes, four years or so. Lots of water has flowed under my bridge. Your poem is perfect as it is. I didn't mean it needs any change, only suggesting to consider for future poems writing from 'we are one being' consciousness. My writing is now on the Whole Human blog of Emanate Presence and I don't get over to HubPages very often.

In Love and Light, We are One Being.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 09, 2016:

Thanks Bro, So good to see you back. I missed you for a while. Better now?

You are right, of course. I have two versions of this poem. Again, it carries it's own metre and sings in a particular way. So I will leave this one as it is. But yes, what you say is awesome, but marginally impedes the flow. Again, I carry a Spirit in my poems which you will continue to feel if you read a few, including the prose work, which is very vibrant... alive.

I am always willing to listen, though. Let's see what comes up next, who knows, I may be inclined to change. Just read a couple more. It's been what, four years or so? In Love and Light.

Gary R. Smith from the Head to the Heart on September 09, 2016:

Your devotion is heartfelt and touching. May I humbly offer an observation that in the consciousness that we are one being, my own wording has changed to not separate.

'So too, I am immaculately woven from Thee. As our paths did cross; Your Love shone from afar,'

We are woven from Thee and we are Thee.

Your Love shines from what seems afar, and we are that Love.

We - everything that is

are - in the present moment

one - single, self-existent

being - of pure consciousness

From the Whole Human blog at Emanate Presence.

Blessings to you, Manatita.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 06, 2016:

I truly appreciate your contributions. I have heard Deepak too, particularly with the Rumi poem's. Excellent!

Missy Smith from Florida on September 02, 2015:

Very Beautiful manatita44! It was really captivating as I read it out loud. I have only meditated to Deepak Chopra's voice. The lady has a great message of inspiration and such a soothing voice. Very Pretty!

manatita44 (author) from london on June 28, 2015:

Yes, Al, this other matter affected me and I wanted to return to beauty and the joy of the Soul.

Again, I've known for many years that even if people are your friends, not too many feel comfortable with insulting stuff, if you know what I mean. Doris has given me feedback and said really nice things about the song. I've now given her the link to my new poem.

Actually she has a comment here but I do not see yours. I thought that you had been here before. Thank you so much for all your noble and loving service. Much Peace this Sunday.

Al Wordlaw from Chicago on June 28, 2015:

It was very sharp that you put the music score to this very special poem on the dedication hub "Ode to The Red Rose. A Dedication to CrisSp."

Thank you so much, Word55. God bless you, Bro. Sleepless gratitude ...

Great poem manatita, Should make a great song too! Look forward to it. God bless!

manatita44 (author) from london on June 07, 2015:

So sweet of you, my Spiritual Sister.

I thought that you had seen this poem before. It is my most popular poem. It is dedicated to my Teacher and to God. I use more metaphors and powerful images in my recent poems, but this is still my favourite, written nearly four years ago, I believe.

Simplistic use of nature, as well as cute, adorable, devotional and charming ...

Actually, I have sat in prayer and Silence for 33 years! I also practice Celebacy. Would be funny and not worth the effort, if I was not receptive to the Higher Graces, or kinder to human beings.

I have passed on you loving message to Mrs D already. Much Peace and this time remembering Monica with lots of Love.

Doris H. Dancy from Yorktown, Virginia on June 07, 2015:

Hey Manatita, I'm here for a change!!

I love your descriptions in this poem. With such vividness, you put the reader right in the place created by God. You are, indeed, a master word smith, but more importantly, you show in your writing your closeness to the Almighty. You are truly blessed, and He has blessed you to catch a glimpse of Him.

manatita44 (author) from london on June 06, 2015:

Well my sweet Friend,

You've missed many but that's not your fault. I have been here for five years and wrote 215 Hubs, the greater majority being poems. You missed the one that I wrote for you, though, and that's very recent.

Yes, I really love this poem. It is addressed to my Guru Sri Chinmoy and indeed to God Itself. It does not have the metaphors and powerful esoterics, that I have used in later poems, but I have made exquisite use of nature and added devotion and simplicity.

Thank you so much for your loving contribution here. This is my most successful poem with readers. Much Love.

Elena from London, UK on June 06, 2015:

This was absolutely beautiful to read. You were born to write and inspire. (Very Distinctive) The poem also has a depth of meaning. How did I miss it? You published it 4 years ago.

Thanks and Best Wishes.

manatita44 on March 23, 2015:

I truly appreciate your loving sentiment, Patricia. God bless you and all your love. God bless your daughter and family. Much peace.

Angels are once again on the way to you ps

Thank you for sharing

Voted up, and AWESOME

manatita44 (author) from london on March 08, 2015:

This is a favourite of mines, and rightly so considering it's addressed to God and Guru. If you are musical, perhaps you can put it into song. Your supreme and sincere comment is noted an esteemed. Joy and Light.

Mary Craig from New York on March 07, 2015:

This is lovely from start to finish. Of course at first I thought it was about a woman but you made it clear in the end. Beautiful glory to God.

It was nice to see a picture of your guru.

Voted up, useful, awesome, and interesting.

deergha from ...... a place beyond now and beyond here !!! on March 07, 2015:

Thank you once again for making your time to go through that one. It has been a different experience to go out with friends for the first time in my life. With family its always a different sweet feel of getting together for a carefree time as we all remain always in a hectic schedule . When we go on a holiday trip we try to catch up among my son and husband as normally we always run around actually without time to talk properly on daily basis with work, schools and household things. You know how it is rite?

So a family getaway and an all friends trip has both its different advantages. Anyways I always love to read your special hubs. Take care and hope you are enjoying your days.

manatita44 (author) from london on March 07, 2015:

So you are here to. It's been a joy to know you. I really loved seeing you in those pictures of your recent Hub and to learn of your trip. I like how you protected yourselves and highlighter the need for women to be careful.

I was also so very happy for you that you got to go away without the 'sweet difficulties' that we all experience, when having to look after our own children. God bless your loving heart, Deergha.

deergha from ...... a place beyond now and beyond here !!! on March 07, 2015:

My divine Brother....its been my pleasure to go through this one here indeed. Thank you and i too feel that its been your greatest creation till now. Very beautifully done really.

manatita44 (author) from london on March 07, 2015:

My Sweet Sister, so glad you came. I believe that I love this poem the most! Of course it's addressed to my Guru and to God the Supreme Artiste. Infinite gratitude .....

deergha from ...... a place beyond now and beyond here !!! on March 06, 2015:

Very beautifully done work here. The pranam on knees to be the best one can be....felt so apt and so very much spontaneous on reaching a higher level of consciousness. Divinity at a very higher self searching level where you can almost feel that you belong to the supreme soul, the Supreme Power Almighty.

Thanks for this share. Shared and votes up.

Thank you, Jodah,

Nice to see so many returning to an older style poem, done in 2011. It is infinite in its beauty and you so rightly spotted the tribute. Higher blessings to you, my Friend.

Nice poem Manatita, a fitting tribute to your teacher.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 17, 2015:

Thank you, Jamie.

I just happen to be here. This is perhaps my most beautiful poem, one expressed to my Teacher and to God. For some reason five of you have come here today. I wrote this in Jan 2011.

I'm so happy that you came and say such nice things. What I said to Rolly, I now say to you:

"This poem is full of beautiful words, so fitting for our Beloved Lord Supreme, this Great Spirit of us all. My infinite gratitude."

P.S. I recited four sonnets this evening at Poetry cafe. Well received. Should you return here and wish for a video of me reciting, then let me know. I was not recorded tonight, but I have another. Peace, Bro.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 17, 2015:

Thank you, Smilealot.

I think this must be my most successful poem. It makes me happy as I am expressing my love to my Teacher, in the way an Apostle would speak to Christ.

Rolly, I truly appreciate your loving words. This poem is full of beautiful words, so fitting for our Beloved Lord Supreme, this Great Spirit of us all. My infinite gratitude.

Thank you, Vocal Coach. I feel honoured that you've visited a second time, and write such moving words. I will write to you. My heart is soulfully with you. In Love and Light. Much peace.

acaetnna from Guildford on January 09, 2015:

Wonderful, very uplifting and extremely beautiful. I loved your writing.

manatita44 (author) from london on September 24, 2014:

Yes, you can apply it to both. Do you know when I wrote this poem I called it a Marriage Proposal. It ended with this in mind. However, I found it too beautiful for human love and added a few bits. Now it's addressed to the Divine, like most of my poems.

So yes, it's addressed to Jesus, the Christ, as He represents the pinnacle of Love. Also, to whoever or whatever God may be to someone different. Much gratitude.

Demas W Jasper from Today's America and The World Beyond on September 24, 2014:

This effort makes me think of those I cherish in these same ways, as well as Jesus and our Heavenly Father. Thanks for thinking beautiful thoughts.

manatita44 on September 03, 2014:

"As the morning rose sings your fragrant aroma,"

What a lovely and elegant line.

Loved it.

manatita44 (author) from london on July 22, 2014:

You are a true fan. You also feel what I'm trying to do - to love God, serve, inspire, uplift ...

May your radiant heart continue to shine and inspire, and may the Love of Jesus, the Christ, continue to bless you and loved ones. Peace.

Doris H. Dancy from Yorktown, Virginia on July 21, 2014:

How blessed we are to see, even more clearly, our God through your words. He is nature, and here, you so brilliantly depict Him in all of His glory. You reveal Him through a variety of nuances whether it be from the stars, the moon, the falling snow, or the rustling winds. You are a master artist, painting the heavenly vision with your many shades and hues. Through your artistic strokes, God allows you to reveal Him to us in an increasingly BRIGHTER LIGHT. How can we ever thank you for the gift of enlightenment that you bring?

Audrey Hunt from Idyllwild Ca. on May 27, 2014:

This poem is truly divine. It is an honor to follow you and the beautiful words you write. Joy and peace to you. ~ Audrey (vocalcoach.)

I feel blessed to read such wonderful words. Lord our God works through people in many ways. Musicians in their music and teachers in their knowledge .Carpenters in their craft. Children in their playfulness. Pilots in their safety.Police in their protection. Firemen in their aid.Doctors and nurses in their caring and skills. The list is endless as the dreams we can dream. To see a poet put words on paper and watch those words come alive in the light. Exciting those who read and planting the seed that will lead to endless experiences and beauty. That is a gift I see with my own eyes and feel through every bone in my body. I enjoyed another special writing that sends me on my way only to bring me full circle back where I once started. Thank you for sharing.
