In The Dawn Until The Sunshine
In the dawn, she left home with ablution.
With a counter in her hand, she walked briskly.
Reciting verses of the Quran with concentration.
Greeting pedestrians cheerfully.
In a blessed early morning walk that she requires,
She walked with the rays of hope that lighted her way,
To walk in those lovely days, she desires,
With an indomitable will that kept its stay.
The rays of aspiration pierced her darkness,
Filling her face with a happy glow,
Leaving her with rejuvenation and freshness,
Keeping her unnoticed of the resolved problems that flow.
With a satisfied stroll, a jovial mood,
And a motivating sweat, she sparkled.
Recitating the verses slowly, she moved
Back to home to get her blessed day started.
About The Poem
After reading this poem, you may want to know who the lady in this poem is. Well, that’s me.
Being a Muslim, I always step out of my house with ablution. Ablution is also called as Wuzu in Urdu. Ablution is an Islamic procedure for cleansing parts of the body. It is a type of ritual purification. The mandatory act of ablution consists of washing face, arms, wiping head and lastly washing feet with water. Ablution is done before preforming prayers and reciting Quran. Ablution can also be done before going to sleep as recommended by The Prophet (PBUH). Cool water helps to have a deep sleep. Regular washing of hands, face and rinsing mouth reduces the spread of germs and disease. Ablution is a physical and spiritual act to purify oneself.
When I go on a morning walk, I leave the home with a tasbih (counter) in my hand so that while walking, the tasbih reminds me to keep recitating the verses of Quran. It brings me closer to Allah. Allah gives ten rewards for each letter recited.
After having a walk of about 45 to 60 minutes, I use to move back home. With a clear mind and increased energy, I step inside my home.
