I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.
We miss you so much there are no words to tell.
The day you left us our little hearts fell.
Oh grandfather, no one knows why God has called you home that day.
We just know that we miss you, more and more each and every day.
But we know that for you the angels have struck a chord.
As your soul is comforted in the bosom of the Lord.
You were not just a grandfather, but also our playmate.
A good husband, a good father and a man of faith.
You had little, but you gave us your all.
But now the pearly gates have opened, and you answered that call.
Grandpa, if there was something we could say to bring you back you would have been here today.
But our love for you will never end, in our hearts forever you will stay.
Now you will add a new glow in heaven, a spark for all to see.
That a beautiful soul is where it ought to be.
And then we look, we listen as the angels strike a chord
And forever you will be, in the bosom of the Lord.

I seldom do funerals -- I am either mad at them for leaving or so happy they are in heaven. People don't get that and it makes them uneasy. "I love you grandpa" I should say more often.

A very sweet poem. I’m sorry for your loss. It’s especially hard at Christmas being separated from those we love. My grandfather died at Christmas two years ago so the season is bittersweet.

Very nice poem Clive. My grandparents have been gone a long time at my age, but I have really missed my father this Christmas. He always loved Christmas, and I wish he could have been here.
Happy New Year Clive!
