Poem of Love - In the Beginning There Was Only One

I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.

Growing Old In Love

Growing Old In Love

In the beginning there was one

We grew and then there were two

We fell in love and then there were four

Two grew to be adults and exited the door

Approaching the end we are now back at two

Condolences, how I miss you

In the end, now back to one.

Pretty soon, i too will leave this land.

It's a sad poem, but at the same time it's good that the couple experienced love. The caption on your photo is lovely.

Such is the cycle of life if we are fortunate enough to find that special one to share life with this long.

I think it is awesome. Sure it is sad when one is left alone, but he got to experience a life that seems to be quite rare these days.

Great write.
