I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida with my wonderful cat Sid.
You never know where -
life will lead you.
What will happen to you
and how you’ll spend your days.
Life can be cruel or kind -
if love finds you,
happiness will be yours.
You never know how -
life will unfold before you.
How your days will be spent
and how much joy there’ll be.
Finding friends along the way,
so many special things to say.
Days that will be golden
and nights full of peaceful bliss.
Enjoying the love you give me,
with every kiss.
You never know just -
how special you’ll be.
All the love you’ll receive
and the pleasure your family will bring.
But you do know how -
to lead your life just right.
to find all the rainbows in the sky.
You know where to look for love
and to cherish your memories.
So even if,
you never know just,
where life will lead you -
you know that it will be a pleasure,
living life to the fullest -
till the end of your days you’ll treasure.

Thank you, Ann.

Great structure in this poem; it leads the reader round nicely. Yes, you never know what's in store but being positive and looking for the best is key. I really enjoyed this.

That is what makes the journey the hardest FlourishAnyway. Just have to have faith and do what you think is best.
You have that right Nithya always we must live life to the fullest and be prepared to take on whatever comes our way.

Great poem, I guess it is all about how we handle what life brings along our way. Living life to the fullest, taking one day at a time is the best way according to me.

You’re right that it’s hard to know what life will have in store for you.

Thank you, Elija. For me living life just right is keeping to my faith, being a good and caring person and every day counting my blessings among other such things.
Thank you, Manatita.
You know Jackie there is a certain philosophy to this. Some say we would still make mistakes and bad judgement even if we knew so much more and others who have philosophized about having the chance to go back some years in life or to have the opportunity to begin again say that this is all the scheme of our lives and we had to go through what we went through and even starting again we would go through the same things and have the same problems. I do not really know what I actually believe but I do know that I have considered the fact of how it would be if someone said to me from what age or time in your life would you want to try and begin again. It is then that I realize I would not just be taking myself back but I would be taking the whole world back and as far as I know, that is impossible to do.

Yes but if we only knew what we do know now before we started!
manatita44 from london on April 18, 2018:
Yes. We never know. You are right up my street here, with a touch of philosophy and romance shaking hands together. Cool!

I enjoyed reading it and agree with the majority of it but ...
How does one know when they have lead their life just right? What is there to measure "just right"?
