I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida with my wonderful cat Sid.
Sometimes we feel like crying,
sometimes smiles are genuine.
Laughter fills the air
and love is all around.
Why can’t it be -
that we can feel free?
Free to live and love,
make life a real holiday
There are days -
that are a joy to live.
Days which seem,
like a heavy burden.
strikes like the hour hands,
upon a clock counting each hour -
tick, tick, tick.
Why must it be -
that life cannot always be carefree?
How wonderful the days
in childhood spent.
So we must look,
toward our dreams,
to lift us above the ordinary
and make our lives a joy.
Sometimes it just seems -
like everything takes time,
nothing ever flows,
as smoothly as we would like it to go.
Sometimes most everything,
seems like a chore.
so hard to make it,
so hard to believe.
Then comes the sun,
shining through the clouds above.
Life falls into place
and we can move on.
Sometimes love comes easy
and other times it’s nowhere to be found,
but on the best days, we can live and love –

The play of life Gypsy. You describe it so well! It's a bit like a libran pendulum - a see-saw - going up and down.

Thank you, Jackie. The Beatles always inspire. We must always do what is best for ourselves.
You're welcome, Ajodo.

Beautiful poem running across life's dynamics.
I like the poem because it expresses universal realities.
Thanks for sharing Gypsy Rose Lee

I think we just do it to ourselves Rasma, for when we look back we always (well many times) wish we had done things differently. I am trying to make a new rule to not take life so seriously and to move away from those who try to bring me down. Life is just too short.
Thanks for the song too.

I’m not a Beatles fan at all but the message behind your poem resonated with me.

My favorite Beatles song is right above...nice choice. Why? It's the human condition. The ups and downs are what make life so fascinating for me.

Beautiful poem and 'In my Life' is one of my favourite Beatles' songs. We have wall to wall sunshine here at the moment and it lifts the soul!
