In Parting

in--parting

Here I sit

And here I stand

Don't go back

Won't spare a glance

Walking walking away

Wishing wishing I could stay

I know it is imperative to leave

For there can no longer be a we

Against the better wishes of me

And for the benefit of you

So Here I sit

And here I stand

Won't ever go back

Can't even spare a glance

Lorna Lamon on November 18, 2019:

You perfectly describe the torment of knowing you have to leave, yet still clinging to that hope of staying. It's all about not looking back. Lovely poetry.

Juliet Acedera from Valenzuela City on November 17, 2019:

I felt those lines, I knew it's not really easy but sometimes we don't have choice but to leave. Nice writing.
