If family is everything

Retroheart is a graduate of law and lover of anything written, especially on paperback. I love the smell of old books.

Some truth for once

Perhaps one day we would learn

If family is everything

Then why do I only look forward to leaving afterwards

There once was a time when all was jolly

But with a simple truth, I lost it all

I often question myself why I come here all the time

Perhaps it is the longing to be part of something made of blood

But why do I feel drained each time I curl up in bed at night

My friends keep me smiling

But when I’m at home, I always get slammed down to reality

What if I could choose my family

What if I forsook everything and lived my life as a hermit

Perhaps my poor heart would suffer less
