If You're Willing to be Wrong

I'm not acting my life away
I wouldn't be making so many mistakes
I know the right response to get along
I have my life's experiences
But sometimes I get the future wrong

I have to think about it
Maybe for weeks or months
I have to change the past
If not the fact of it
Then how long it's gonna' last

Have you ever been that way
Believing in everything you say
It's easier to live like that
If you're willing to be wrong

I have to be like a jury in a trial
Every suspect is innocent
The judge said ignore that testimony
It's your mind playing tricks
Don't let love mingle with your memory

Why question my good fortune
Whenever the moment ends
I've always found my place again
It's better to live for today
And be glad you made another friend

Have you ever been that way
Believing in everything you say
It's easier to live like that
If you're willing to be wrong

I don't have to love the world to love somebody
It's just the way it is and if their charms worked on me
I'm probably not the only door they've ever tried to open

I took off my armor
The chain link and the quill
I'm not afraid of my own blood
Let it spill on the ground
So I can bathe in my own flood

I can always say
Anything that I want
Is that the point of being a friend
Telling them the truth
Even if you lose them in the end?

Have you ever been that way
Believing in everything you say
It's easier to live like that
If you're willing to be wrong
