If Only People Were Like Kittys

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

"If Only People Were Like Kittys" is a poem about wishing people would show their love as simply as a kitty.

There would be no second guessing, because the evidence would be there.

It would be a love that stands the test of time.

If Only People Were Like Kittys

When Little fur balls curl up next to you,

sending vibes of unconditional friendship

with their paws kneading the bed,

letting you know there’s no place they’d rather be,

it gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Making you wish

people could be as simple,

putting their love on the line

without any doubts,

making you feel

like the most important person in their world.

Feeling a love like no other,

with a torch that stays ignited

throughout the test of time.

Our animal friends teach us more than we could have expected and love us more than we could have hoped...that's why we miss them more than we could have imagined.

Bobbi

Thank you.

Awe...the gifts.

I've had several..even a live bird let loose inside the house.

I had a catico (patio) for cats at the time.

But they love bringing us things..

I would take a kitty over a person any day...no offense, but they are so lovable.

Take care.

Lora,

Thank you.

I'm with you!

Kittys are wiser than Humans.

I'm glad you liked this one.

Take care.

Hi Brenda,

I have actually said at times--I love animals more than people--they give you unconditional love. They are sweet to other animals most of the time. I love my kitty Baby--he brings me gifts--sometimes I don't appreciate them.

I loved the poem.

I love your poem about kitties. Live would not only be simpler but I think people would be happier! People want too much and it makes them unhappy. Cats or kittens are happy with getting their basic needs met and giving and receiving love in return. They seem to be inherently more wise than humans! A very insightful and lovely poem, Brenda.

Emee...

A lick or o purr?

Cute one.

They definitely would shower one with attention & there'd be no doubt of their love.

I'm glad you like this one & that you adore cats.

Me too.

Take care.

Emee chan on July 17, 2021:

This is so true. If people were like kitties, they'd shower you in affection in a form of a lick or a gentle purr, only asking for food and petting. I like this poem even more, because I really, really adore cats, they can be so cute!

Greg

Thank you so much!

Awe...that love we get from them is priceless.

Dinner time is that one time you repay their kindness...so worth it.

Take care.

If only. I have two cats and an old faithful dog. They love and love and love and don’t ask for much in return (I mean, if you don’t count dinner time, which is an adventure for everyone every evening). Still, “feed me” is not a tall request and it’s certainly a small price to pay for a life of devoted, undying, unconditional or. Great poem, Brenda. Thanks for sharing!

You miss your Kitty? Sometimes They love us more. Yes, we can learn a lot from them. Lovely piece.

Niks from India on July 17, 2021:

Greatly imagined and well-written! Now I love cats even more. And about that song, 'People are crazy,' I lately discovered this song while I was listening to country music. It's one of my favorite.

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on July 17, 2021:

I enjoyed reading this poem, and it is so true, Brenda.

I lost my 'Oscar' tuxedo cat 2 years ago and I am still grieving. He would come when I called, and he was so loving. We could learn from cats for sure.

Thanks for the very clever poem.

No matter what.
