If I Could See with Baby's Eyes: A Poem
If I could see with a little baby's eyes
not knowing what they are seeing
I'd let the world come to my size
forever loving and agreeing.
If I could hear with baby's cute ears
cannons would be playing lullabies
a laughter would come out of tears
and truth would be replacing lies.
If I could touch with soft baby's hands
it would be your face that I'd touch
with tiny heart that understands
why I love you all so much.
If I could smell with that baby's tiny nose
cold winter would have aroma of spring
a blade of grass would smell like a rose
and every beggar would be my king.
If I could taste with rosy baby's lips
life would have taste of sweet breast
and every tear of joy that slowly drips
would bring taste of the life's very best.
If I could lay where baby sleeps
I'd let my sleep come very fast
and at my final count of sheep
get stuck in a dream at last.
