If God Would Give All That I Need (Poem)

Author:

Jack of quite a few trades but a master of one. Read my hubs and figure it out for yourself. I do lots of research on various subjects.

Patience Is The Virtue To Give God Time

This poem is for hub writers to add to like it has been done in the past. You may add your lines in comments and I will place them in the poem as I see fit to...

God The Provider

If God would give all that I need

Then I would not need to sin,

I need the woman of my dreams

And to make her my next of kin,

For her to provide for me

All desires I have for her kind,

She shall be to me, my queen

To walk beside me, not behind,

If God would give all that I need

A platform to spread His Holy Word,

I would use the blessings of His seed

In ways that have never been heard,

If God would give all that I need,

The opportunities to make monies to do righteous things,

I would not only succeed,

But would bless many other human beings,

If God would give all that I need

It would leave no reason to do wrong,

I’d be separated as wheat from the wicked weed

And in His Kingdom be considered as strong,

If God would give all that I need

Satan could do me no harm,

In God’s safe haven, where I’d supersede

Every wile of Satan by heaven’s vivacious alarm,

If God would give all that I need

Like walks and talks just like His Son,

I would be of good measure in deed

Unlike myself, not like anyone,

If God would give all that I need

I should pray to, worship and glorify Him,

There’d be nothing better for me to give heed

And no longer shall God in my life be grim,

If God would give all that I need

I need for Jesus to come right away,

For this world is fighting because of greed

And innocent lives are being lost everyday,

If God would give all that I need

Why not live according to His Word?

And if God gives me all that I can concede

Then disobeying Him would be absurd,

If God would give all that I need

I would eat according to His diet commands,

So I would be disease freed

And continue for which He stands,

If God would give all that I need,

I would have no cause for worry.

I'd be kind and generous indeed,

Giving any excess to the poor and homeless,

If God would give all that I need,

It would be that my one heart's desire

Is having just what He wants for me;

Not what I think self can acquire.

Good idea. I don't think I've come across a group poem like this on HP before. I like it.

By the way, I've tried to email you through the fanmail, but it keeps kicking it back because it thinks I'm a robot. It's not giving me a captcha thing to prove I'm not, though. Not sure what's goign on. But my email address is shan.marie2010@gmail.com.

Hi Dora, I am prating for your mom. Thank you for your wonderful contribution to the poem.

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on June 06, 2016:

Word, for two weeks I've been back and forth from the hospital monitoring my mother's care, but I did not forget:

If God would give all that I need,

It would be that my one heart's desire

Is having just what He wants for me;

Not what I think self can acquire.

Right "...ready to receive" but It's already there! We (flesh=pride) "get in the way!"

We must stay "humble" as "little children" (Matthew 18:3) and not allow our flesh "get in the way!" We (flesh) continue to (consciously and subconsciously) allow traditions, preachers, teachings, etc "get in the way" of Holy Spirit's (aka JESUS') Job instead of coming to HIM with a "pure heart" seeking and praying for "revelation" of TRUTH in HIS WORD!

II Chronicles 7:14 says "If my people, who are called by my name, shall HUMBLE themselves, and PRAY, and SEEK MY FACE, and TURN from their WICKED WAYS; (Guess What?) THEN will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land!" You see? One MUST "humble oneself, pray, seek HIM with a "pure heart," and turn from their wicked ways THEN we'll be ready "to receive!"

HE'S "always" there! Waiting! It's us! We "get in HIS way!"

Al Wordlaw (author) from Chicago on May 31, 2016:

Realistically, God does not give all that we need at one time. He gives gradually perhaps, when we are ready to receive certain things. That is what this poem is all about.

norinewilliams4035@att.net on May 30, 2016:

GUYS: "GOD "HAS" DONE IT ALL over 2000+ year ago! If we would spend as much time SEEKING HIM (WORD) instead of what "we" have determined "feels right," HE has sent Holy Spirit to "HELP" in ALL things!

Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel (The Gospel of Christ;" Galatians 1:6-9) of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."

GET READY!

Hi Brother, Al. You been good?

Your singing is passionate, Bro. Nice! The poem is great too. I think like Norine in this one, Bro. I tend to believe that we already have all we need, just some self-effort needed, perhaps.

Great to see you in action. You seem quite composed. Excellent!

Al Wordlaw (author) from Chicago on May 24, 2016:

Hi Audrey, thanks for your comment. All is very well with me. God bless!

Audrey Howitt from California on May 24, 2016:

Thanks Dora for stopping by. Can hardly wait to see your contribution. Hurry back!

Norine Williams on May 22, 2016:

You're welcome WORD!

REMEMBER: "GOD HAS DONE IT ALL!" It's just a matter of us reaching out, believing and receiving through FAITH!

Blessings!

Al Wordlaw (author) from Chicago on May 22, 2016:

Hello Norine, thank you for stopping by today. I understand your point of view and I also agree with it. Feel free to contribute to the poem if you would like to.

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on May 22, 2016:

Good thoughts and good music. Will return with my verse which I hope will be acceptable. Keep writing and singing.

Norine Williams on May 22, 2016:

Word: GOD "has given you ALL you need!"

Wow! I wish people would "BELIEVE" HIS WORD!

Did not HE say the HOLY SPIRIT (aka JESUS) would "lead & guide one into ALL truth?" Did not HE say "Seek you first the kingdom of GOD & HIS righteousness and ALL these things will be added unto you?"

Well, why don't you "BELIEVE?" Do everyone just think those WORDS were written just to fill a book? How can anyone call themselves "Christians" and don't "BELIEVE?"

What kind of "BELIEVERS" are you "proclaimed Christians?" Do you only believe there is a GOD? Did not John 1:1 say "In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with GOD and the WORD WAS GOD?" If the WORD is GOD, and you don't "BELIEVE" what HE SAID, how can one "proclaim Christianity?"

That's why there are so many "lukewarm" Christians, so many who "proclaim Christianity" yet they "think" and "act" as unbelievers! That's why there are so many asking for "proof" of the existence of GOD because we are no different than they!

Did not GOD say we "would do greater things than HE" (John 14:12-14)? Why can't we? Because we apparently think the Bible are only words to fill a book and don't TRULY "BELIEVE" HIS WORD or we wouldn't write poems such as these!

Thank you Mabel, I'm glad to hear that you compose songs as well. Songwriting is in deed a very special gift. Do you sing your songs too? Anyway, there are messages that need to be heard on a very large scale so you just may have one or more in your catalog. Let them be heard. Be blessed.

mabelhenry from Harrisburlg, Pennsylvania on May 21, 2016:

Wow! Say it backwards it still spells Wow! Your gifts are making room for you and that a good thing. I compose songs, the words and melody, but I can't read or write music. I need help!!!! Congratulations with your CD project. Do tell when it is finished.

Al Wordlaw (author) from Chicago on May 21, 2016:

Hello again Mabel, I checked out those sites completely that you referenced. They were on point... And yes, that is my singing on the song here. I did ALL on it except shot the video (hi hi hi) I'm going to rerecord it professionally for my upcoming CD project. I've sung it in church and concerts. People love it. It's one of my testimonials. Glad you liked it! Remember, you can add to the poem here. Thanks!

Al Wordlaw (author) from Chicago on May 21, 2016:

Thank you Dana for stopping by. I would gladly welcome your contribution. That is why I wrote the poem; to share. Hurry back. I know you can come of with something. Bless you.

Dana Tate from LOS ANGELES on May 21, 2016:

Nice song but I know that you are a man blessed with many talents for I have visited your internet radio often to listen to your music. I want to add my contribution to this poem but the words haven't hit me yet, so I may have to come back to it. It was, and is an enjoyable read.

Al Wordlaw (author) from Chicago on May 21, 2016:

Thanks Bill for stopping by. Of course, God knows what you need. Be blessed!

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on May 21, 2016:

I came to the realization ten years ago that I have no idea what I need, so at that point it wasn't too hard to turn it all over to God.

blessings my friend.

Hi Mabel, I wrote this for the benefit of others as well. I would like for them to contribute to it to see what their thoughts are. I appreciate your comment very much and website references. Good to see you.

mabelhenry from Harrisburlg, Pennsylvania on May 20, 2016:

Hi there word55. I hope all is well. This poem speaks of the struggles we go through or are going through. I can identify with you in many ways. "If God would give all that I need" If denotes that something is prohibiting your needs from being met. Even when it seems our needs are not met because the thing desired hasn't manifested yet. God is and will supply all that you need. Hope deferred makes the heart sick...I know the feeling very well. Be encouraged and keep pressing on in. The poem is the hope of the midnight cry, and hope for the soon return of our Savior. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TUuJ7YGDOs This song will explain what you are feeling through this expression. http://graciousone.strikingly.com/ Website
