You - A Love Poem
Sometimes I write poetry rather than history articles. Enjoy this short but sweet write.
You
Before me a bustling life scene with a lack, one vacant space
Then you. Voices fade, replaced by two singing heartbeats
I feel the sublime strength of your being, your infinite grace
You smile, I smile, we smile. Souls divinely speak, love entreats
From a moment so mundane springs a natural phenomenon
How extraordinary that my search for you, for us, ends here
Utter relief that after so many sorrows, false loves come and gone
You stand there so true, so free. My missing piece is you, you so near
I see my future play in scenes reflected in your enchanting eyes
You must feel what I feel? The heat of desire in our private furnace
You glance away. Don't leave me, don't ignore destiny as she cries
You look back, you hear her, us. Realization beams from your face
I could have borne the wait no longer. Blissful kismet, heaven sent
There's no fear of our tomorrows. I submit in your bewitching sphere
Me, a rapt stargazer witnesses your heart in its sharp orbital ascent
Two energies have ignited a love that will never die. Our time is here.
I is now we.
