I Would Be Coming Back

Umesh is a freelance writer contributing his creative writings on varied subjects in various knowledge and educational sites in internet.

Preface

When one lives away from one's sweetheart due to adverse circumstances in one's life, then it is natural to long for meeting with each other. Whether it is possible to meet or not a person can always imagin it happening. This poem is an effort in that direction only to depict the feelings of a person in that situation.

I would be coming back

Away I am, but long to meet you soon,
The delay is there but let my love bloom.
I know you are waiting only for me,
How can we meet now, this we have to see.

You wanted some time, I was also not free,
Beneath we sat, remember that old tree?
There only you promised, you would wait for my return,
I departed with heavy heart, some where to earn.

I read your mails, you are so punctual,
You cherish my posts, it is not unusual.
Bearing love wings, I would reach you soon,
Are you still confined to your little room?

The time is coming to cheer and rejoice,
We would have then a composite voice.
I am yearning for your open arms for me,
Love never dies, this you would soon see.

Enndnote

Sometimes love has intense feelings and affects the sentiments of people involved in it. Human mind can imagine a plethora of thoughts and things and it manifests in their behaviour. A poet can try to present these situations with his feelings and understanding about these aspects in our lives.

Shaloo, thanks a lot for your crisp observation. Appreciate.

manatita44 from london on June 22, 2020:

Yes, yes, so correct. Actually Chinese and Indian sentiments, as reflected by their movies, can be so sublime! They are addressed to love ones, but could easily be mistaken as being addressed to God. They are so beautiful!

Human love, especially in ancient Indian womanhood, is so full of beauty, grace and poise! It is a hand-down from the highest depths of Spirituality.

Your piece is romantic and touching. Lovely!

Ruby Jean Richert from Southern Illinois on June 22, 2020:

A long distance romance is foreboding and I felt it in your poetry.

Marvelous. You reminded me of my wife and I with her in Vietnam and me here in California. We made it work and were united at last. I assume this is real for you, and I will pray for your reunion.
