I Need You Lord: A Poem for Lent Season

Paul is an Engineer. A graduate from a Catholic University. A rebel and a romantic...

I need you Lord

Waiting for the sun to shine;
To this lonely life of mine.
Everyday is filled with tears;
Days of sadness turned to years.

Got used to being alone;
Missing all the happy tones.
Now I'm idle like a stone;
Good old times are now all gone.

Waking up is a burden;
Pain and regret are stirred in;
Can't see behind the curtain;
So afraid... life's uncertain.

God! Where are you? Here I am!
I'm broken....tired...and wasted.
I'm hungry...sick...and naked.
God, I need you. Here I am.

Thank you John. Indeed, we win when we kneel before God....

Paul, I admit I have made a similar plea to the Lord on more than one occasion. Sometimes there is no other solution but to hand it over to him in faith. Nice poem.

You are welcome and correct!

It took me years to realize that I was trying to fight His battle! I thought it was me...that I wasn't good enough. Now, I'm sitting back and enjoying the ride dude!

Thanks PoetikalyAnointed. Time will come when we will fight battle on our knees. At that point, God can fight the battle for us. But the human heart is stubborn so trouble must happen before we make that surrender which leads to victory.

This is so Beautiful, Paul!

Yes, there are times when there's nothing else to do or say but this!
