I Lost an Angel

i-lost-an-angel

Nothing I can do but regret.

She was an angel;
Her eyes and smile,
Her wings and halo
Caught my heart and soul
She was as modest as a princess.
As I looked into her soul,
I was mesmerized.
I took care of her.
She learned to love me.
She was caring and loving.
Her patience was light years in the universe.
But with her loving and understanding spirit,
I did not pay the same.
I ruined her, I abused her modesty.
I turned myself into a pharaoh
And she was my slave,
Days and nights passed, she offered me herself,
And days and nights passed, until
I heard her cries, her heart moaned,
But I just shrugged,
I shrugged my shoulders, and
I continued.
For months, I lived like a pharaoh
Like an emperor, a king
Until one day,
Her wings opened widely,
She flew away from my kingdom.
Now,
I lost her.
Nothing I can do,
But regret.
I lost an angel.

Thanks Ms. Brenda for reading my hubs. I greatly appreciate your comments.

This is written during my college days when a close friend of mine shared all his stories to me.

Powerful lesson here to treat your angel like a goddess enjoying her company.

It takes two workung together. Not just for one's pleasure.

Nice words.

If the angel had a change of heart or a new angel returns, I hope that you wouldn't cut her wings. Rather be the wind and join its plight. ☺️
