I Cry for Us

Given the trials of life and how life is currently, I hope for change. In the future, I hope to see love outweigh the ways of the world.

Still I cry

Pain is spreading around our nation

I cry for us

For we have become forbidden from love

We have been indoctrinated to exude unbelievable hate

Hate that starts within and slowly propagates

We have fought this battle 100 million times

The war within us that lives inside

We can not defeat the devil

If we continue to place agony aside

Not addressing it at all

How can we prepare for the real attack

If the one war we are fighting is with ourselves and each other making it impossible to fight the real enemy back

I cry for us

For we have become forbidden from love

We have been indoctrinated to exude unbelievable hate

Hate that starts within and slowly propagates

Brainwashed by the devil himself

We throw daggers towards one another

Forgetting that I am your sister and you are my brother

We discourage the righteous paths

Bottling up our anger, shielding it with laughs

We walk around as if we are vigorous

Putting on this act so that they don’t know

Failing to acknowledge that our power has dissipated much time ago

I am aware of how much we are all hurting

Frustration passing from generation to the next

Children in confusion

Women lacking respect

Men walking away

How much longer will we tolerate what we shouldn't accept

My oh my why must this be

When will get it and finally see

Apprehension floating around extensively

Pattern after pattern, cycle to cycle

This ignorance exceeds

Taught to follow but never quite lead

Broken families, failed relationships, jealousy with such bitter hearts

Epitomizes exactly why we are broken and falling apart

When does this war finally stop

Oh, when we become ruined?

Ready to explode and ready to pop?

It appears that our men walk in such vain

Is it because they themselves are infused with the most pain?

Our women are scorned

We got to do better; there has got to be change

I cry for us

For we have become forbidden from love

We have been indoctrinated to exude unbelievable hate

Hate that starts within and slowly propagates

I truly hope these tears I cry don’t last

I anticipate destroying the hurt, neglecting the past

Wishing that we suppress pointing the finger

Hoping we stand in our truth, accept responsibility, and no longer allow this anguish to linger

I cry for us

For we have become forbidden from love

We have been indoctrinated to exude unbelievable hate

Hate that starts within and slowly propagates

Let’s fight alcoholism and do away with the drugs

Let’s combat fear, self-hate, this uncontrolled depression

Greatly replacing our hate with hugs

For once stand to repress transgression

Take that experience and use it for progressing

Stop using excuses to ignore these lessons

End these fraudulent lifestyles and forbid impressing

Face your affliction and stop using other alternatives to cope

Replace uncertainty with insurmountable hope

Be quick to give compliments than to offend

Detoxify those bad toxins that live within

Although life never was meant to be uncomplicated

If we stand together and exemplify faith

Then I can attest that we will make it

Though, until this starts to occur

We will still live as if we are those young boys and girls

That suffered because our fathers and mothers had too experienced the same

Trying to learn how to survive in such corrupted world

As this is a repetitive cycle, forget what we'll lose and realize that the suffering was all for our gain

For us to benefit

To transform triumphs from our fear of shame

Recognize exactly what it is to truly live

I cry for us

For we have become forbidden from love

We have been indoctrinated to exude unbelievable hate

Hate that starts within and slowly propagates

Remember our Gain will be Eternal

Thank you so much Bella and I appreciate your comment! :) When I write, I speak from my heart and on the reality of life situations. It really took a lot to put this poem together because I wanted to make sure that I was able to convey the message clearly. I am ecstatic to keep inspiring and bringing forth the messages that the world needs to hear in order to help transform lives and the world overall. Thanks again! God Bless You!
