I Am a Glowing Star Now

Misbah loves writing poetry. She says poetry is what makes her heart feels warm and light.

The universe and the light of the stars come through me.

— Rumi

In my life, I've always stood on the sidelines,

and watched the world go by…

Too terrified to let go, and dwell in the past,

too tired to try in today.

I've enviously looked at the folks around, and

I spend my days hiding out,

and looking for means to flee.

What a deception to make me believe,

I was here to guide with so little knowledge.

For the sake of not living my life for myself.

It is true that our lives, and

the suffering we endure,

weakens us to move forward.

But if we allow ourselves,

to become buried in the scars of our past,

without a doubt, our existence will be lost.

If we want to have a chance at this life,

we're all in. Unfortunately, we can't help, but

hurt each other in order to win

One thing I've learned from this experience,

It is essential to safeguard the lives of all beings.

No matter what road we pursue in life,

In the end all we want is to survive.

The time has come to overcome my worries,

and begin a new dawn. Today I am strong,

so, allowing my tears to wash away my pain,

Stopping my life to fade away in vain.

The dawning of a new day means, that

I can finally let go of my worries, and

start a new dream. For me,

it's time to regain control over my life.

You can see me crying, but

I'm actually letting go of the pain.

In an instant, the gloomy night has given way,

to a bright and sunny day;

Hope and happiness welcomes them in,

as they enter the doorway. The last time,

I was envious, it's been a while.

To the best of my ability, my scars attest.

Was Weak before, but now I'm a glowing star

Having survived the storms, I'm now a human being.

Love for God and humanity has given my life a new meaning.

We came whirling out of nothingness, scattering stars like dust... The stars made a circle, and in the middle, we dance.
