I Wish I had a Home
I Wish I had a Home
I wish I had a home
A place to lay my tired head at nights
And someone to cover me with the blanket under the starry skies
I wish I had a home
A place where love was served on wake
Where my pillow would be my boat on the dream lake
I really wish I had a home
With family that ruffled my hair
And a nudge on the shoulder with a pat on the back would tell me they care
With a cute little dog that barked at the mail
And a Cat relaxing in the tree licking his lips at the picture of a whale
How happy I would be, with a home like that
And people would come by
With apple pies
And stand on the welcome mat
I would wake early in the mornings, and make omelettes and different teas
And maple syrups on pancakes would be calling the bees
I wish I had a home
A Place where I could enjoy soup while watching the rain
And count every drop from the sky as they hit the earth grains
I would be a happy man
A man with a place of my own
I truly wish I really had a home.

Sorry Clive, I thought I left a comment here, read this one several days ago, as always very well written
Beautifully done.
But I must warn that having a home is a pain in the butt. Plumbing, electrical, roof repairs, appliances -- a home is a money pit.
Clive.... I hate to burst your bubble but you must wait in line with the rest of us. Just sit back and relax while you wait to become old, tired, ornery and confused. At that point is when MOST of us are finally placed in a "home." Keep smiling until then. Peace!
I hope you get everything you dream of.
Wow! A wonderful wish really worth enjoying.
Clive, I wish your wish becomes a true reality.
Blessings for a Happy Home.
