Nice To Meet You Mr. Depp

I first met Johnny Depp through the movie, " Edward Scissorhands " and instantly found myself ignited by his great talent. Soon after seeing this movie, I saw him again in the movie " Benny and Joon" which was shown on television. The movie " Chocolat" was next, followed by " Secret Window ", Pirates of the Caribbean", "Don Juan De Marco" and one of my favorites, " What's Eating Gilbert Grape ".

More movies followed and I found myself falling in love with this multi-talented actor. But it was his television appearances and interviews, especially, The Actors Studio, that left me with such a huge respect for him on a personal level. His humility and wonderful sense of humor touched me so.

Thank you, Mr. Depp...for you are the inspiration and motivation for my poem.

Oh, Johnny

I dreamt I slept with Johnny Depp

And I was 21

He fed me grapes and made me laugh

My heart said “He’s the one”

I dreamt I slept with Johnny Depp

And I was 32

What makes this man exciting?

I haven’t got a clue

I dreamt I slept with Johnny Depp

And I was 45

How is it I'm so lucky

He’s the sexiest man alive

I dreamt I slept with Johnny Depp

And I am 53

I hear him snoring through the night

Its irritating me

I dreamt I slept with Johnny Depp

Now I am 64

If he doesn’t stop that snoring

He’ll end up on the floor

I dreamt I slept with Johnny Depp

Recommended

And I am 77

Dear Johnny what has happened

To our little slice of heaven ?

I dreamt I slept with Johnny Depp

Dear God, I’m 89

I lay here with my memories

That once were so divine

I dreamt I slept with Johnny Who?

Today I’m 99

I think he was a pirate

In another place and time

Thanks for all the memories

I 've loved you to the end

And now it's time to say to you

Farewell, my dream, my friend.

My Favorite Movie With Johnny Depp and Leonard Di Caprio

Thanks, Nicolas Cage, For Bringing Us Johnny Depp

John Christopher Depp II, was born June 9, 1963, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He would become one of the most famous screen actors of his time. Johnny, not only excels as an actor, he also plays guitar and is quite the musician.

His acting career began with televisions' "21 Jump Street" (1984 - 1993) and he soon became a teen idol. Depp fell into acting when his wife introduced him to her ex-boyfriend, actor Nicolas Cage. Cage, saw that Johnny was signed by an agent and after a few small parts as an extra in movies, he landed his first big movie, "Nightmare on Elm Street" in 1984.

Johnny Depp continually challenges himself to portray roles that are larger-than-life.

Aging Isn't So Bad

Humor is our best friend during the aging process. My parents had an amazing sense of humor combined with a positive attitude. Even when my father had his leg amputated during a bout with gangrene in his foot, he found humor. Though his doctor's warned him, because of his advanced age, he most likely would not walk again, he used humor to press on, practiced daily, and proved the doctors wrong.

My poem about aging and Johnny Depp is not intended to make fun of Johnny - it's about how aging can change our perspective. It's all in fun.
