Wake Me Once Again

I can't say it anymore, it's too easy
You will just have to look behind you
The wake that bends and simmers
It's still there and can be made again
Circle back and see what happens
The water parts so easily for you
It holds you up and reflects the light
Beneath life is filled with silent mystery
It is not something you can own
Only one of us can be this way
Let me play my part, you play yours
Tomorrow may storm or burn with fire
Still I remain calm with no memory of it
Until you throw rocks at me; or yourself
I will cover you until you leave me behind
And your body dries itself once again
But not me as I can only be what I am
