Wisdom-Quote from the Master

“The poet Keats said, “A thing of beauty is a joy forever.” But what is that thing? That thing, from the spiritual point of view, is our soul. The soul is eternally beautiful. God expresses Himself in the physical through beauty, pure beauty, beauty without a blemish. This beauty is not merely skin-deep, but it is in the soul. Here the soul is expressing itself through the physical form.” – Sri Chinmoy

I Bathe in a Pageantry of Ceaseless Light

Colourful and radiant, the petunias twirl

Their red and white petals,

Smiling and dancing, as their blossoms unfurl.

I walk into the meadow, with a joyful spirit;

The sun comes out of the heavens and kisses my cheeks.

Today is like a paragon of serene enchantments,

And the wafts whispering in my nostrils,

Chant of the glories and grandeur of Love.

The song-birds continue to enchant with their melodies,

I become immerse in a pageantry of ceaseless Bliss.

The earth greets me, with a cascade of red roses

Beneath my feet; a light drizzle kisses my unsullied face.

I swoon in a magical mirror of my Beloved’s lustre;

My Heart bathes in an ocean, of incandescent Delight.

The Spirit of The Word

The magnolia said to the nightingale:

“You sing so sweetly, my dear.”

It is the dawn of thy tenderness,” responded

The song-bird, “that inspires my eloquence.”

I saw a magenta leaf, gliding gracefully ‘pon

The eve. She placed her gentleness, on the laps

Of two lovers, enthralled by the

Breath-taking splendour of the sun.

Love tunes a melody, in the embryo

Of the unborn. A new birth emerges,

Descends into the golden womb of destiny.

The Spirit of words, within our core does blend,

To feed our Hearts and minds;

Some broken fences mend.

"You are God’s Beauty:
Beauty human,
Beauty divine,
Beauty supreme.
This lofty truth shall forever remain unchallenged." -Sri Chinmoy

The heart sees everything
As beautiful, more beautiful
And most beautiful." -Sri Chinmoy

Hi Peggy.

I looked this up as I wrote about it in several poems including a recent one. Glad you used the phrase.

Yes … yes. Worth protecting. What we see visually is a powerful manifestation of the Spirit. Much Love, my Dear. Not writing? Thank you so much!

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on October 24, 2018:

Our soul will emerge like a beautiful butterfly from its cocoon when we are born into the next life. It is worth protecting while encased in our body in this life. You make us think and your words are always so inspiring.

manatita44 (author) from london on October 24, 2018:

Indeed it is, Eric. Indeed it is! A lovely compliment from you, my Brother. How is your health?

You may find my today's poems appropriate, perhaps. One speaks of hope and the other of the fortitude and beauty of the soul, even in the face of adversity. Thank you so much!!

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on October 24, 2018:

Marvelous. Thoroughly enjoyable and loving.

Had me loving my own body as a vessel for my soul.

manatita44 (author) from london on October 23, 2018:

Yes, my brother.

The servant is not greater than his Master. I am a mere instrument of his.

Thank you so much!

Ioannis Arvanitis from Greece, Almyros on October 23, 2018:

My brother, you know how much I love your poetry. It always makes my Heart walk to the gardens of Heaven and I am so grateful to you. But the pieces of Sri Chinmoy you use are really windows to Heaven, they are without equal!

Gratitude for all the beauty!

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on October 23, 2018:

Every one of your lines is beautiful, but some are potent with inspiration: For example:

"Love tunes a melody, in the embryo

Of the unborn."

You paint love in unfathomable depth.

manatita44 (author) from london on October 23, 2018:

Ah Patricia,

Thank you so much, my Dear. Appreciated. Higher blessings and much Love. Salaam! -Lantern

Ah, my Brother Rajan.

What a 'sweet' and charming piece! It is a more than worthy sentiment and contribution. I'm so happy that you are imbibing the Spirit of the poem. Babaji bless your loving Heart.

Rajan Singh Jolly from From Mumbai, presently in Jalandhar, INDIA. on October 23, 2018:

Your first poem is heady. These final lines are the crowning glory-

"I swoon in a magical mirror of my Beloved’s lustre;

My Heart bathes in an ocean, of incandescent Delight.

and then again-

Love tunes a melody, in the embryo

Of the unborn. A new birth emerges,

Descends into the golden womb of destiny.

The Spirit of words, within our core does blend,

To feed our Hearts and minds;

Some broken fences mend.

Exquisite!

manatita44 (author) from london on October 22, 2018:

Lol. How I love that line, Linda C. It just came to me. Cool, eh? I'm beginning to make nature and the Cosmos speak more. Truth is, they actually do speak if we learn to listen. Thank you so much!!

Linda L,

I hear it is a paradise on earth! An incredibly beautiful place! Joy indeed! Peace be with you, my loving Sister. Glory be!

Elijah,

A really cute summary! I like it. As I was saying to Linda C, this coming together of nature … of the Cosmos do speak to each other. We just need to Listen. I use the word Love there as the common thread than runs through all sentient and non-sentient beings. Love is the Source of and is responsible for all. But you know that bro. Much Gratitude ...

Linda Crampton from British Columbia, Canada on October 22, 2018:

I love your use of language, Manatita. The line "The sun comes out of the heavens and kisses my cheeks" is beautiful, as is the rest of your poetry.

Linda Lum from Washington State, USA on October 22, 2018:

The sermon yesterday morning in the church I attend was on the topic of Heaven. What you have described is, I believe, what Heaven will be like. Only beauty, only joy, only oneness.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on October 22, 2018:

Manatita, Your poems are a magnificent presentation of "one side of beauty" as well as the "Wisdom-Quote from the Master" you quoted.

The part of beauty they reveal is that of the moment although your lines ...

"Love tunes a melody, in the embryo

Of the unborn. A new birth emerges,

Descends into the golden womb of destiny.

The Spirit of words, within our core does blend,

To feed our Hearts and minds;

Some broken fences mend"

... did touch of yet another moment of that beauty. In order for the moment of the bird's song and plant's flowers to be recognized as beautiful the entire process as I quoted above [ in plants is when the pollinating is complete and the blooms fall ] and in the bird has to be beautiful for the joining of the bird and the plant to recognize such beauty of the moment.

Peace,
