I Am Not A Robot, I Am A Student

Ace is a student who wants to touch other people's heart thru the poems that she writes.

I am a student, not a robot that can do things easily
I can't do whatever you desire automatically
And there are things I can't do independently
Hope you understand that and help me

I am a student, not a robot that can't feel anything
Whenever I can't finish my homeworks I feel like crying
My thoughts will be "Im disappointing"
And then I will overthink things

I am a student, not a robot that can be charged to have energy
Let me rest my brain too and not just my body
I need to relax, enjoy, and sometimes be happy
Life is short, so please let me

Apart from the expectations of others, schools add to this pressure. There should be a balance, so that students don't feel guilty because of their grades or that they don't live up to the high expectations of others. Your poem highlights this very real situation - life is too short. Your poem is spoken from the heart. Beautiful.

Your poem expresses beautifully the difficulties students face. It was a nice read.

We do not want to disappoint those believe in us that's why we do our best, but sometimes it's just so tiring like you wanna give up but you can't because they'll be disapapointed in you, then you'll also be disappointed in you. It's hard.

Yes, sometimes I think students do have too much pressure put on them with homework, assignments and studying for exams. They often have to juggle these with extracurricular activities such as sport as well as home duties. I am sure you do often feel like a robot. Good poem.
