Hunger Poems About Love and Life

I'm interested in social issues, relationships, problems of daily living, jobs, exercise, poems and fiction, plus safer living conditions.

Brenda's 56th Word Prompt

Brenda Arledge has given us a new word prompt, which is ‘hunger’. There are many meanings of this prompt. I appreciate the time and effort Brenda has put into the prompts, which always result in some wonderful poems and stories.

I have read some excellent poems about hunger recently as a result of this prompt. I have written some poems to add to the challenge.

Hunger For Times Lost

I hunger for things lost in life

Loving those who are gone

We want to live with little strife

Walking and singing a song

I hunger for more time with my boys

And grandchildren brighten each day

Being together means so much noise

I just wish they would always stay

I miss my sons and grandchildren

I wish time would have stood still

As the best times have come and gone

But they would probably tell me to chill

Young ones don’t know that life passes fast

The older we get the faster it does go

Appreciate each day, live in the moment

Because there is no way to make it slow

World Hunger

Hunger for a good meal

Urging people to simply share

Never being selfish with our goods

Giving to the needy when we could

Even a small scrap makes a difference

Remember to pray for some help

Love Lost

I hunger for you

But you are lost to me now

Long to see you now
