How Much Time Is Enough Time? And Is There Even Such A Thing As "Enough" Of Anything?

Author:

Emee.chan was a bit emotional while writing this. Must be the heat.

Solitude.

Solitude.

We might not be immortal, but our bonds are timeless.

Enya- Only Time

Tick-tock goes the clock, Ticking time's passing. Waiting on no one, never stopping.

Tick-tock goes the clock, Ticking time's passing. Waiting on no one, never stopping.

How Much Time Is Enough Time?

How much time is enough time
To cherish all we got, until
That final tick of life's clock?

How much do we have left
To kiss and hug our loved ones,
To show them they do mean
The world to us?

Appreciate your mothers, they do
The most for us even when
They aren't always in their element.
It would be so hard without them.

Appreciate your fathers, they're trying
Their best too, no matter what it
May seem on the surface.

There are so many people who
Make our lives worth living,
Who bring laughter even when
Tears are spilling.

We may have today, then the next day
It can all be gone in an instant.
We're never really prepared for
The feeling of missing.

So let's use our time well,
It is precious and it passes in
A blink of an eye, so fast we
Get caught by surprise.

Contemplation.

Contemplation.

There will never be enough of anything.

Not enough kind gestures, kind words.

Not enough tight hugs, squeezing each other tight.

Not enough love shared between those you hold dear, those close to your heart.

Not enough time for each of the above.

Exactly, the thought that one day you enjoy their company then the next they could be gone really pulls at your heartstrings.

That's right, we aren't aware how fast time can fly and that we aren't immortal (unfortunately).

Thank you for your nice words! I appreciate it!

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on July 28, 2021:

Emee

Things really do happen in a blink of an eye.

One day everyone will be fine & the next they are ill or gone.

Treasure the moments while you can. Make the most of each one.

Chitrangada Sharan from New Delhi, India on July 28, 2021:

So true!

We must keep on spreading love and do good deeds, because we don’t know, what will happen the next moment.

Nicely expressed poem, with an important message.

Thank you for sharing.
