How Can an Angel Be So Imperfect?
Amateur writer. On the path of the phrase that says "practice makes perfect." Avid consumer of books that make me think, make me feel.
How can an angel be so imperfect?
Perhaps I should change the definition
Of beauty so that it could account for
Your uncontrollably curly hair and
Your never-growing beard and your silhouette
Against the window on a sunny day.
Perhaps people should know that your majesty
Lies in your chipped nails and tired smile,
Or the way your eyes twitch after you cry.
They should know that your confidence resides
In how you aren't afraid of confusion
And how you laugh at yourself openly.
Maybe the best things about you are
The things you forget to notice, the things
That are effortless--they are the secret.
Afterall, angels are graceful, and where
Would their grace stem from, if it isn't from
Their effortless glory?
Your glory is your imperfection, yet
I still fail to answer this question:
If everyday we seek perfection,
How can an angel be so imperfect?

This is an interesting poem. It's also thought provoking. It makes me wonder what perfection really is.

This is so very true, humans are angels but they are earthly angels so that they have their faults, but when in time of need you are so grateful to have their help and encouragement that you can cope with a few imperfections. :)
