I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.

An Hooker's Death

Screaming sirens and Flashing blue lights

A female laid dead in the street, murdered in the cover of the night

Detective Clifford knew who she was, but now she is a gonner

A beautiful girl, but a typical hooker

Her name was Lola Granola. She worked the streets

A risky business in this day and age, many like her never made it in their thirties

She laid there, silky tight skirts and a tiny mesh top

Decorated by makeup and blood, she got her throat slashed.

Her co-workers wailed, one of their own had fallen

A victim of the viciousness of the business, tears flowed, eyes swollen

Her best friend Booby, vomited when she saw Lola dashed out like road kill

Immediately she overdosed, swallowing over a dozen pills

There was buzzing on the streets, a particular name was being mentioned

Detective Clifford new who the person was, a scum, a slime ball, a hooker’s extortion

The word was that he wanted a fifty percent cut in what Lola was making

He had beat her before for holding out on him, she was scared, he had her shaking

Detective Clifford and his partner Billy Mahoon brought Sleazy Joe in

Behind the glass, they began interrogating

“Where were you on Tuesday the fifth of September at twelve noon?”

“I was down by the lake admiring the moon.”

“Don’t get wise with me you old feces Pale.”

“I am gonna make sure you spend the rest of your life in Jail.”

“You murdered that young lady didn’t you? All because she refused your extortion.”

“When I am through with you, you‘re gonna wish your Mama had an abortion.”

“You see Sleazy Joe, apparently you were not that smart.”

“We recovered the murder weapon, and it had all your marks”

“I am gonna make sure the judge gives you the hardest sentence there is.”

"Because the murder you did was premeditate."

Interrogation Room

Sleazy Joe began to sweat from his head right to the middle of his palm when he heard the detective declare that they got him. He was so terrified of going to prison that he just started blabbering about how killing Lola was an accident. He confessed that he went to see her after finding a couple high end clients for her. He told her that he wanted a fifty percent cut for sourcing these clients who were paying a pretty hefty sum for a couple of minutes, an hour tops. Lola Granola shafted Sleazy Joe and decided to take all the money as she did all the work. He found her, confronted her and an argument developed. He said they got into a scuffle and Lola used pepper spray and nearly blinded him. After he was partially blinded, he was receiving blows all over his body from what felt like a piece of board. He had one hand covering his eyes and the other waiving blindly trying to block the blows. To defend himself, he pulled out a knife he was using to cut something in his car and flashed it blindly and wildly all over the place. He claimed the blows he was receiving to his body had stopped suddenly. He painfully opened his eyes to see what was going on and only saw blurriness. He could however make out that Lola had fallen to the ground and looked like she was bleeding from walking into the knife he was waving.

“Gee, that was such a sad story, and I guess you are expecting some kind of pity from us? Well guess what pot hole? YOU AIN”T GETTING ANY! You just confessed to a killing sleazy Joe, and I know with your reputation on the streets, the Judge is really gonna love you!”

“Wait, wait, I want a deal.”

“A deal, what are you going to bargain with, your next prison meal?”

“Lock this guy up and get him from my eyesight, he sickens me.”

“But what if I can tell you where and when a very large shipment of cocaine will be coming in

“Then you will have a bigger bust than some bloody hooker with stitched skin

You will make the news and maybe get a promotion?

“OK wise guy, I am listening.”

“This better be the real deal, else someone will be using a lot of Vaseline.”

“So what do you want scumbag?

“I want to walk free.”

“You must be out of your freaking mind Mr. Sleazy.”

That will never happen in a million years

Maybe we can get the judge to give you much lesser years

And throw in early parole

You better take this deal you fool

Done Deal

The deal was dealt and the interrogation had been completed. Lola Granola’s killer had made a deal with the system. His tip on the drugs proved to be true. Sleazy only got 5 years in prison and got his early parole. Lola granola, now just a memory carried away by the whispering winds.
