Hammer Examiners - Poem
Vanita Thakkar is an Entrepreneur - an Engineer-Researcher-Consultant and an Artist - Singer-Composer-Poetess-Writer from Vadodara, Gujarat.
HAMMER EXAMINERS
The cream of Academia
Puffed and stuffed
With pride
Turns sour,
Hissing questions
Swallowing replies,
Undigested,
Which burp
Acidic remarks,
To add to
The health of
Sick research,
That turns
Guides and Examiners
Into live hammers,
Wild and ravaging,
Tough "Masters"
Of weakened "Disciples",
More busy in
Crushing and pounding
"Ego" and "Alter ego"
Of Researcher
Than ensuring
Systematic detailed
Research work.

Thanks.
I have seen this problem trouble so many researchers, including myself. Disorientation / loss of focus from the essence of work is not considered punishable - especially when those involved are at such a position of respect, but it really hurts sincerity and harms the overall work atmosphere and desired, necessary progress in the field.
Chitrangada Sharan from New Delhi, India on July 27, 2020:
Well expressed on a topic of concern.
Appreciate you for conveying your message through a poem, effectively.
Thanks for sharing.
