Half Past Thirty

Most of my poems are from what can best be described as my "Blue Period", aka "The Dark Year of the Restless Soul".

Hey there lady

Pretty as you are

Looks like you're gettin' old

It's gettin' half past thirty now

Your touch has turned quite cold

Those lines are signs of times

You know

Times of highs and lows

How many lines did I see there

Before I chose to go

I look back now

It seems so sad

That Nature took its course

The times we had

Both good and bad

Rode like a free wild horse

I guess we knew

The time would come

The time we'd have to part

Now all that's left

For me and you

Is to find some two brand new hearts

There IS still time

If you decide

To ever settle down

Just find your man

And make your plan

He's somewhere to be found

As for me and you

I guess we're through

The rain sure takes its toll

I loved you girl

And always will

But the story's grown quite old
