Hi Nella...Thank you for the comments...Yes, the photos are great, but Spring is about to be sprung and the desert will come alive with the vivid colors of nature that she blesses us with every year....Larry

Cat...You are correct...My bad...As a total amatuer I mistook the elkhorn for the deerhorn, which is edible...Thank you for the correction...Larry

Catherine Tally from Los Angeles on March 28, 2020:

I wouldn't recommend eating elkhorn. I believe it's a poisonous member of the Euphorbia family.

Larry Conners (author) from Northern Arizona on March 28, 2020:

Good morning, Laurinzo....You have plenty of cacti in Utah...The extremely rare and beautiful cactus "Uinta Basin hookless cactus" is unique to Utah's Duchesne county...

Thank you for the encouraging comments...Larry

North...Thank you for the encouraging comments...This haiku was inspired by my exploration of the Sonoran desert near Tuscon, Arizona...Beauty lies hidden in the dry washes, arroyos, and scrub brush wastelands, you just have to look...Larry
