Guilty as Charged for Being Human: A Poem
We must have overcrowded facilities of hell
with millennia worth of sinners of all kinds
plus enormous number that's hard to tell
of all of us who have sinned in minds.
Sometimes it seems sentencing is changing
we first go through a hell to deserve heaven
with a silly outcome which we are arranging
for a hellish life to start when we are seven.
For, by that time we surely know
why we don't deserve a happy life
and why wherever we decide to go
for us there will be hardship and strife.
Praying and cursing, or cursing and praying
in whichever order it does not help us much
like under a spell we seem to prefer staying
out of our free will, out of a conscious touch.
Guilty as charged for being born as a human
we spend a lifetime unconscious and sinning
obeying a set program for a man or a woman
with no other but that little devil in us winning.
