Gratitude Heals

Updated on February 24, 2018

I woke up today and realized that I should not complain

I shouldn't only love the sun, but I should love the rain

I have always had a home

I've never had to be alone

Having just this one good ear

Makes me cherish what I can hear

I'm thankful for my struggles because they make me stronger

I'm thankful that I'm healthy, so that I might live much longer

I have two arms and two legs, ten fingers and ten toes

A gift that those without them will never get to know

I have food and I have drink

I have a brain that over thinks

Hubby can walk and soon he'll run

My life has really just begun

I'm thankful for my family; I'm thankful for my friends

I'm thankful to be learning in a stream that never ends

I love cows and dogs, lizards and frogs

The lichen that grows from old dead logs

Brownies and cake, thick chocolate shakes

And any dessert that my sister makes

Ok, ok, I got off track

Let me take a couple steps back

The path through life is very short and there's pain along the way

But if you try I bet you'll find a treasure in each day
