Grace (Kripa), Sunday's Inspiration 36, to the Esteemed God-seeker, Vanita Thakkar

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

On Grace: Wisdom from the Holy Mother

"Even water, which has a natural tendency to flow downwards,

Is drawn up to the sky by the sun's rays.

In the same way, God's Grace lifts up the mind, which has a

Tendency, to run after sense objects." - Sri Ma Sarada Devi

Sri Sarada Devi (Wife and Consort of Sri Ramakrishna, The Great God-man of India

Grace (Kripa)

I gaze at the Master, eyes fixed on the

Transcendental Self. Slowly our stream of

Consciousness merge, as my physical cage

Becomes quiet, peaceful; serene, like the ocean’s bed.

The mind is calm, vacant … tranquil, my breath

Quickens, as I drift into another realm, the force

Of Grace taking control, as I, a soul immortal, soars, like

A dauntless falcon, upon an expanse of magnificent vastness.

I’m in a Temple Courtyard, the mortal coil still

Sitting in the lotus asana, amidst slabs of holy relics,

As the wine of rhapsody takes hold, and I, a mariner,

For once does not steer, as Grace navigates my sweet Surrender.

The blue moon caresses me with its lustre; my

Heart unfurls its sails as the Light enters, me blending

With the universal beauty that never perishes. “O Grace, my

Grace!” I say in Silence. My vocals have gone still; my stillness vocal.

Everywhere is intoxicating beauty! My eyes shed copious tears,

The joy of the soul, a stream of energy almost too powerful

To control. It runs through my frame, and I sense a shifting

Of the breath, enabling me to bear this harmonious Peace.

Slowly, my body returns to conscious awareness,

Too soon for me, but Grace knows I’m not yet malleable

Enough, in the hands of the Master Weaver, and so I

Wait to be further alchemized at another moment.

O Grace, my illumining Grace, You that dance in my soul; bathes

Me in trance and inebriates my core with symphonies, Come!

Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 16th July, 2021.

Wisdom of the Master

"The Supreme is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. He has various kinds of power, but His greatest adamantine power is His grace. The moment the Supreme uses His grace for an individual, He offers His very Life-Breath to the seeker, for the Supreme and His grace cannot be separated." - Sri Chinmoy

Wisdom from the Master

"The divine grace is constantly descending upon us. Those who are sincerely aspiring are conscious of this divine grace, but those who are not aspiring are keeping their heart's door permanently closed." - Sri Chinmoy

Wisdom from the Master

"Before realization, we think that our personal effort, our aspiration alone is responsible for our spiritual progress. At that time there is no such thing as grace for us. But after realization, we come to see that there is no such thing as aspiration. Our progress is all due to divine grace." - Sri Chinmoy

Significant Aphorisms of the Illumined Seer, Sri Ramakrishna

Wisdom from the Master

"A true believer of God feels that his very existence on earth, his inner and outer achievements and fulfillments are entirely due to God's grace. Also, he is truly fortunate to see that his so-called personal efforts too, are an act of God's grace. At every moment he feels that without God's grace, he is nothing and with God's grace, he is everything." - Sri Chinmoy

No Mary, it is always with with. When you feel it, it will be like a powerful experience from the Heart, the psychic Heart; not the mind.

Mary Norton from Ontario, Canada on July 20, 2021:

This is the second article on grace that came my way this week. Maybe, I am invited to understand it better

manatita44 (author) from london on July 19, 2021:

Jai Sri Ramakrisha! Satgurunath Paramahansa ki Jai! Jai Vivikananda! Jai Ma.

I missed some celebrations, as the Sri Chinmoy Centre hold races for the public and I went instead. Our big one is Guruji's birthday, but Covid has affected flights. I may write to the American Embassy today.

Thank you so much for your visit and lovely comments. Blessed indeed! What we all need is the Light of Consciousness ... the Grace to heal the form ... the Spirit! May Sri Sarada's Kripa guide and protect your loving Heart. Jai Sri Krishna! Jai Ram!

This is such a blessed surprise, Brother Manatita !! Loved it to the core. The quotes, the beautiful pictures, the video on Thakur's Wisdom, your recital ....

Guru Poornima is round the corner and prominent vibes are arousing. I was thinking of writing something about it and your article came up !!

Thanks a lot !!! Truly appreciate it. Jay Thakur-Maa-Swamiji !! Hari Om !!

Vidya, my Didi ji. Always a joy!

Seems like your daughter is teaching you too. She must be truly blessed. We say in Kiswahili, 'kama mama, kama binti.' 'Like mother, like daughter.' True to an extent in terms of genes and teachings. Yet Yoga is all about karma and reincarnation ... the growth of the soul. Thank you so much! Hari Om Tat Sat!!

My Dearest Bhaia ji.

I know of your goodness ... your dauntless courage ... strength in adversity, but I did not know of your connection with Ramakrishna- Vivekananda. Figures!

I applaud you on this noble endeavour and wish you Ram's blessing for this praiseworthy cause. Let me take this golden opportunity, to offer my Love to Bharat Mata also. She has served mankind silently for centuries!

Love to your near and dear ones and may Sri Krishna continue to adorn your beautiful soul with His effulgent Light. Jai Sri Ramakrishna. Satgurunath Paramahansa ki Jai!!

Venkatachari M from Hyderabad, India on July 18, 2021:

A beautiful description of Grace. Your poem picturizes it all touchingly.

The quotes from Ramakrishna are beautiful. I studied in Ramakrishna Mission High School, Chennai, and read many books of Vivekananda and Ramakrishna which I used to get as Prizes for my Ranks those years in the late 1960s.

Your own video on Grace is also very good. I am nowadays a member of a group of people performing 1000 days penance for universal health and peace. It is the 515th day today. They do it online for 8 to 10 minutes. But, I am doing it at my own times and 4 or 5 times a day.

My blessings and love to you all

Thank you, Rosina. Hopefully. (Smile)

Vanita is a God-seeker, like me and has a spiritual teacher too. We speak from similar pages.

Yes, Grace is very special indeed! Imperative to life! Misbah sent me the 99 names of Allah, a very powerful and sublime piece on adoration, praise, glory. Perhaps you've seen the video. You may also like Pe Lakhon Salam:

Chuckle. You're joining the elite of Bill, Shauna and Linda. Everybody has a best! Yet Bill does not commit himself so much! Ha-ha. I have 1,500 poems!

I like what you say, in the sense that I am a God-lover and spirituality is my genre. However, you'd be surprised by how many love my social justice or topical poetry. Simply because they can relate to them.

You relate to this one well! 'Sweet Surrender' is so essential to Grace and you have spotted this. Kudos to you, my dear friend. Thank you so much!

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on July 18, 2021:

I love what you said about grace and your beautiful poem. It is a lovely tribute. I love the act of "sweet surrender'. The quotes of Sri Chinmoy are so enlightening. This may be the best article you have ever written, Manatita.

Aww ... Even the Christ tried! God-men tell you it's impossible to describe (Quite true) But they also know the value of words.

You're up early! Can't sleep? I see you're beginning to use the English superlative words well. (Chuckle) Much gratitude, my dearest Dee ... much!!

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on July 18, 2021:

Grace, such beauty and gentle power! Difficult to describe the indescribable, but you make me try, Manatita. Exceptional work!
