Goodbye, My Old Friend
Robin, you were always such a winner for me,
Brightened the world for all of us others to see.
You gave us a lift when we all did feel so down,
No better way to laugh than if made by a clown.
Robin, you were but the comedian's comedian,
Every word in jest, to capture life's essence in.
Never a dull day to last when you were nearby,
You always made me laugh so hard until I'd cry.
This world has lost such a friend, is so plain to see,
I cannot fathom why you left, and for the life of me.
Your laugh lines to be missed by us all, each one,
The happiest spot in any evening, as time has run.
When times were tough he made them all smoother,
He was the requisite dose of laughter, nerve soother.
We will always remember Robin, for we all loved him,
Spirit of entertainment, made life brighter, not so dim.
