Golf on the Moon, Frisbee on Mars

I can't seem to stop writing poetry or reading poetry. I think it is safe to say I love poetry and I love sharing great poetry with others.

On February sixth Seventy One

American Astronaut to the moon

Alan Shepherd attached a six-iron

to equipment meant for collecting rock

then covered the club at launch with a sock.

As boosters lifted them up into space

his mind was on when he would have a chance.

After extended stay on the surface

he pulled out his club and dropped his two balls.

He shanked the first and hit home the second

a two hundred yard shot a lunar first.

One day I would like to visit the moon

or maybe Mars, to be the first hippy

to toss in red sky a hidden frisbee.
