Twilight seeps through the window
I wake to feel your arm’s embrace
As you move closer to snuggle
Your beard tickles my face
Crickets chirping birds singing
You cross one leg over mine
Crows cawing air conditioner humming
Morning has arrived on time
Suddenly everything is completely still
Except for the beat of your heart
For a few seconds, there’s golden silence
Then the moment departs
All previous sounds rush in
As daylight invades the dawn
Your roll away release your embrace
I give a sigh and yawn
Birds begin singing praise
To the Amighty
