Give yourself a Chance-Response to Brenda Arledge’s Word Prompt Week 51

I love poetry. I am a lifestyle enthusiast and like to write articles and poems on lifestyle changes that benefit people.

Word Prompts Help Creativity ~ Week 51-Chance

Our dear friend and a wonderful writer, Brenda has resumed the word prompt challenge which we were looking forward to. Brenda who has faced a personal tragedy recently, has been brave and is trying to get back to normal life. She has started writing again and we are so happy to have her back. We really missed the word prompt challenge. My muse seemed uninspired without the challenge. This week Brenda has given us the word prompt ‘Chance’. It is an interesting word prompt and I am sure our Hubber friends will come up with great responses.

My poems are based on the concept of taking a chance when the opportunity arises rather than regret later by not doing so. Hope Brenda and my hubber friends like my response to this week’s word prompt.

We all need to decide whether to “play it safe” in life and worry about the downside, or instead take a chance, by being who we really are and living the life our heart desires. Which choice are you making.

— Charlie Badenhop

What is Chance

The dictionary defines chance as “a possibility of something happening”. For example, winning a lottery. When we take chances, there are also risks attached to it. When it is successful, we feel the chance was worth taking. But failure is a possibility which we should be ready to face. By considering it as a lesson learnt we can move forward and hope we get another good chance. Only by making mistakes can we grow. Taking chances makes us stronger and smarter.

Most of the time, we do not prefer change as we feel safe in our comfort zone. Though there may be amazing possibilities, greater freedom and a better life, when we choose to make the change. We fear taking risks and let go of a chance to maybe improve our career, relationship, or life. Later we regret having let go of the chance. As Brenda rightly said in the word prompt article, life is too short to be overly cautious and let go of a chance to do something good or to improve one's life.

Poem-Give yourself a Chance-Response to Brenda Arledge’s Word Prompt Week 51

Take the chance every day

To change yourself, don’t delay

Because only you and you alone

Have the power to transform your life.

Time is less so don’t postpone

Chase your dreams, follow your heart

Take chances now, try something new

Tomorrow is not sure so do it today.

The important thing is not being afraid to take a chance. Remember, the greatest failure is to not try. Once you find something you love to do, be the best at doing it.

— Debbi Fields

Seize the chance that comes your way

It may turn out to be your big day

And may lead to a lot of gain

Such a break may never come again.

Any time is right to make a change

Take a chance, grow from the experience

Believe in your ability to create

Something wonderful and great.

Take a chance! All life is a chance. The man who goes farthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare.

— Dale Carnegie

It may seem challenging now

But missing out on the chance

Will only lead to much regret

Of opportunities lost and be upset.

Don’t wait to take decisions

To have relationships you wanted

Take risks rather than do nothing

Come out of your comfort zone.

Life is short and time doesn’t wait

So don’t miss the chance to relate

To be content and to spread cheerfulness

To find inner peace fulfillment and happiness.

You learn so much from taking chances, whether they work out or not. Either way, you can grow from the experience and become stronger and smarter.

— John Legend

Chance-An Acrostic Poem

Change your mindset to change your life

Hard work pays rich dividends

Always have belief in your abilities

Never get disheartened by failure

Chase your dream now or regret later

Every chance is worth the risk taken
