Gift to Life of Going Silly: A Poem

Val is a life-long practically oriented student of effective emotional and attitudinal responses to the many challenges of life.

The skill to find our bliss is in its biggest part

ability to drop all significance of our life

it's like a very special, precious art

of being free from any strife.

The secret is in allowing to just go silly

picking time when it can't cause any harm

going childish and dreamy, brainstorming freely

donating to life some of that forgotten, innocent charm.

When we are alone and not judged to be crazy

even mocking our most cherished views

smiling, relaxing and acting lazy

as if we just lost any clues.

It's fun and moreover it's also healing

with a loose mind and a carefree elation

it's blasting our walls and our limiting ceiling

setting us for happiness and sense of liberation.

So, find that silly time in you dense schedule of roles

just lay aside whatever seems important and true

don't see your rules like some holy scrolls

then watch your heart thanking you.

Oh Val.....LOL. Feel free to ask each of my sons if they can discern between Mom's fun persona and that ever-so-serious Mom demeanor! There is no doubt that they know it when they see it & feel it. Still, to this day, at their ages of from 36 to 50, a certain look from me and they habitually stand at attention!! LOL

Paula---Silly and laughter are great medicine, as long as there is that "serious mother"'s voice present to prevent us from "overdosing". I know about your fabulous sense of humor my friend from all that funny stuff that you have sent me. Keep laughing, and I'll always join you.

Val....Your poem sounds like my way of life!! I have to have a daily dose of silliness and laughter....as much as I need air & water and food! It's just the way I am....and the atmosphere in which I grew up. Our Dad was a fun-loving man who kept us in stitches!!........Until our Mom, THE BOSS LADY got after us all!! LOL......I suppose SOMEONE had to be serious & sane!
