Garland of Pen Friends - A Poem

Author:

Rinita is a creative writer, with focus on poetry. She delves into several forms including Haiku/Senryu, Sonnets, Free Verse, and Prose.

Background

I wrote this poem as a tribute to some of my regular followers, who themselves are excellent writers, and through Hubpages, have become my pen friends of sorts. My humble tribute is an acknowledgement and appreciation for always being there as a soulful audience for my work.

If I have missed anyone, please know it was unintentional.

The Poem

Visible paths of wisdom you chart

Through your writing lessons, dear annart

Breaking the monotonous work-life chain

Your soothing poetry arrives, dear snakeslane

To another realm, another world of verità

Soulful sonnets carry, from dear manatita

Dark satire, mysterious crime, incidents socio

At the brink of thrill each time, from dear Frank Atanacio

The golden nectar suckled by the swift bees

Thus opens up your poetry lines, dear threekeys

Flora, fauna, oceans, or a shrine, like a pagoda

Your rainbow of poetry - true delight, dear Jodah

Colorful gems from the nib of your pen

Flow through your sanguine words, dear Li-Jen

As a flavorful, well-blended margarita

A garland of pen friends, woven by Senoritaa

Thank you, Mona. It was the least I could do to show gratitude. There is so much I have learnt from all these brilliant writers. I'm happy you liked the garland I wove.

Mona Sabalones Gonzalez from Philippines on July 19, 2020:

This is such a wonderful way to express your gratitude and warm feelings for your friends on Hub Pages. It is also a very well written poem. With each friend you applaud, we learn a little something more about them.

That was very kind and sweet of you, Li-Jen. Thanks again.

Li-Jen Hew on September 15, 2018:

Haha. Thank you for the generous comment, Rinita. :) I describe but it cannot replace the poet's original meaning of the poem. :) I am learning from you and other poets. Lastly, you have taught me how to appropriately respond when I am at loss for words. ;) *wink*

Rinita Sen (author) on September 15, 2018:

Thank you, Li-Jen. It is never too late. As my friend and fellow hubber Verlie (snakeslane) once said - poetry has no expiry date. You are an amazing describer, at times can explain the meaning of poems better than the poet herself/himself. You should seriously consider becoming a poetry analyst. I am truly happy to have you as a part of my garland. Keep writing, and my best wishes for your results.

Li-Jen Hew on September 15, 2018:

Ohh and so sorry for the late reply.. I was busy preparing for my exam in early September.

Li-Jen Hew on September 15, 2018:

Hey Rinita, I enjoyed how your poem introduces each hubber creatively in each stanza: Sweet, succinct with a meet and greet rhythm like handshaking each one of us. I admire how you managed to use your sharpness in observation to summarize our work. I feel touched. Thanks for including me Rinita. Your poem is one of the best gifts I've received and thanks for the encouragement. Keep writing, Rinita. :)
