The Garden of the Soul

Struggling for eons, I had only the desert, as my

Companion. My inner battles were constant, and

The pangs of desire tarnished my Heart. Darkness,

Like Gaia drawing home the sunset, disturbed my soul.

Yet forward I moved, the longing for Love a constant

Agony, tearing at my soul. I was alone in an arid chasm,

Searching for an oasis, to quench my inner hunger.

One virgin dawn, my grey clouds began to dissipate

At daybreak, and, as the blue sky peeped through,

I could smell the luminous sunlight, see her cheeks

Smile, and knew intuitively, she’d be out at any moment.

Now my inner-song-bird sings to the mountains, as

Light dances and flowers bloom anew. Nothing moves

Without the breath of Silence. I am a dauntless Spirit,

Steadier than the mother’s arms, cradling her new-born.

I have found my Lover, and our Hearts, harmonious,

Devoid of grievances, are One. There’s a sweet fire within,

From this scented garden, where roses emerge victorious;

I dance in the flames of Paradise, while banqueting with Light.

Nurturing the Soul's Garden

Immersed in Her Precious Flames of Delight

I was a fertile seed, separated from its Source,

Dying from the agony of longing, to return home.

Wallowing in isolation and despair, the sad

Wails of my Spirit, reached out to Paradise in prayer.

For eons, I was lost in a torrent of pain and distress,

Until Love came, walking on the sweetness of

Of my longing. She licked my tears in Silence,

Rejoicing in the sweet lute, of my total surrender.

My soul, a core agent of the Beloved, and the

Heart, her deity, cupped their hands unceasingly

In supplication, paying obeisance to my cute Shyama;

Entreating intercession, for the glories of the Light.

My Beloved smiled; gazed at me, revealing Her true

Nature. I became immersed, in Her precious flames of Delight.

Great poetry about the soul. "Honor" our souls? We should at least recognize and appreciate our souls. Then honor comes next.

"Plant your own garden and Decorate your own Soul." That sums up what you have written, although your words are always much more melodious and meaningful. I liked that last quote from Sri Chinmoy about our souls defying all time and space. Enjoy your week, Manatita!

This is so beautiful, wonderful and unique as always. Bro, God has blessed you with a beautiful skill. You are special and I always admire both your wisdom and your work. You have a special way of spreading words of Love and Light. I wish I had the ability to do the same. But I'm pleased I have you as a spiritual brother who always tries to show me things in new and different ways.

Thank you very much for sharing these delightful poems with us. This is a beautiful tribute to Ishika. I am sure she'll love it.

I especially loved the opening quote by Sri Chinmoy. It is full of wisdom. I loved these lines from your first poem:

"From this scented garden, where roses emerge victorious;

I dance in the flames of Paradise, while banqueting with Light."

Who can do it better than you? I admire your work and the effort you put into it. I am thankful to God that I met you here. You are a beautiful soul. Allah bless you always. Ameen! Take care and keep smiling.

Fi Aman Allah!!

Blessings and love to you and Ishika
