I'm interested in social issues, relationships, problems of daily living, jobs, exercise, poems and fiction, plus safer living conditions.
I very much appreciate Brenda Arledge’s prompt and more importantly her encouragement. Friendship is the new prompt, and I think that is a wonderful prompt. Friendship brings many thoughts to your head as you think of your friends and what they mean to you.
There are many aspects of a good friendship, like trust, being honest, sharing secrets and having someone just to listen when you need them. My best friend is also in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), which is an interest we share. We were also both RNs, so we have so much in common.
Friendship brought many characteristics to mind, so writing poetry using some of those characteristics was not too difficult. I really like this prompt from Brenda.
Acrostic Poem About Friendship
For I love our wonderful times together
Rich is our time as our friendship grows
I will treasure the time with you forever
Enjoying the humor and laughter too
No one else could ever take your place
Doing the many fun things we pursue
Sharing my private secrets with you
Happy I am when we meet at the club
It is always a pleasure the things we do
Pushing along as we walk through life
Dionne Warwick - That's What Friends Are For
Ode to Friendship
Friendship adds so much to our lives
As we share our laughter and secrets too,
We go shopping and out to a good lunch
Plans and dreams we will always pursue
Our time spent together is so much fun
Friendship is honest and adventurous too,
Our playful times are memorable as well
As soon as we met I immediately knew
You would be that wonderful friend
Hanging out together we stick like glue
