Friend: A Poem
A flash of ginger out of
The corner of my eye.
In the emptiness,
I see you, still
Eyes of green,
Wide and bright
Looked at me with
Ancient wisdom,
And spoke to me,
Without a sound
Two strays, invisible to a
World that passed us by.
We shared a can of corn
On a shadowy street.
You healed me,
When my heart bled.
You were my light,
In endless darkness
Vanished from my arms,
But not forever.
Residing deep
Within my heart
.

When I met him, I was in a very bad situation and had nothing. He never left my side.

His name was Crash because we "crashed" into each other when we met. He was an old cat that no one wanted. He had no teeth and could hardly see. We were together for 5 years til he passed away. I came home from work one day, and he had passed away while napping in his favorite spot in the apartment. I miss him everyday. I was upset that I wasn't there when he died, but he was warm, fed, indoors, and happy during the years he was with me. Rest in Paradise, Crash.
