Fly to me, mark my skin
Of freedoms wing
Bringing the soft life in
A calm song to sing
Fly to me, cleanse my sin
Of weakness I bring
Give me strength within
To remove thy sting
Fly to me, tell me when
Of my time passing
Places I've already been
To which I always cling

Thank you Linda. It's been a long time since we've spoken. I'm doing well. Can't really complain (though sometimes I still do!). The setting was calm and happy when I wrote it. It was a ranch in South Texas.

This beautiful poem is uplifting and whimsical. I feel the joy & calm that nature brings with your words. Hope all is well my friend.

Hi Lorna, I was on my wife's family ranch over the weekend and was enjoying some butterflies that flew close. I thought of butterfly kisses and soft breezes you can feel. I wanted that feeling of being cleansed to remain. Cleansed of everything that holds us back.

I love the title of this poem and the need to be free of memories -perhaps?
